I see a few entries on the dovecot mail list where people are working with dovecot 2.4. I see an entry in the web port/package list for dovecot24 which I presume is the proper item. However, pkg will not find it on amd64 or arch64 using either current or latest. Am I doing something wrong?

    Hi!

I see a few entries on the dovecot mail list where people are
working with dovecot 2.4. I see an entry in the web port/package
list for dovecot24 which I presume is the proper item. However,
pkg will not find it on amd64 or arch64 using either current or
latest. Am I doing something wrong?

I think because of some pkg-plist problem this does not yet build
    on the package cluster.

    For each of amd64 vs. aarch64 (a.k.a. arm64):

packages built for: main [so: 16] vs. 15.0 vs. 14.4 ?
packages built for: latest (a.k.a. default) vs. quarterly?

Different combinations need not get the same build result for every
build. (Plus such builds and distributions need not be in the same time
frames for the same ports tree vintage.)

Both mail/dovecot24 and mail/dovecot24-pigeonhole are fixed and ready to become committed.
Same status for the mail/dovecot24-wormhole port.

Tonight dovecot24 showed up in pkg. This is on a Raspberry 5 and I think it is using quarterly.

Dovecot24 has been in the latest packages for awhile. I have it up and running on a test system. However, before I can move it onto the production mail server, it needs to have pigeonhole working. Is there any prognosis when pigeonhole might be available in packages?

I created the port files using those from bug 298046. However, make failed with a few errors:
dovecot24-pigeonhole-2.4.5 depends on file: /usr/local/lib/libcrypto.so.50 - not found
libressl-3.6.2 depends on package: pkgconf>=1.3.0_1 - not found
libressl-3.6.2 depends on package: pkgconf>=1.3.0_1 - not found
I didn't expect that libressl would be required or that /usr/local/lib/libcrypto.so.50 would be needed. I am running on FreeBSD 15.1 and /usr/local/lib/libcrypto.so.57 is the current version.
    libressl is at version 4.3.2
Found a later patch. Trying that. Different errors:
dovecot24-pigeonhole-2.4.5 depends on package: dovecot24>=2.4.5 - not found
Error a dependency refers to a non existing origin: /usr/ports/mail/dovecot24 in BUILD_DEPENDS

dovecot24-pigeonhole-2.4.5 depends on package: pkgconf>=1.3.0_1 - not found
dovecot2.4.5 is not available as a package yet.
    pkgconf is at 3.0.5,1
I can force these to the available versions, but will that work?

    1. Do you use ssl=libressl (DEFAULT_VERSIONS in /etc/make.conf)? The
dovecot24 packages are built with openssl (from base).

    2. When did you last update /usr/ports? libressl 3.6.2 is from March
18th, 2023. The current version in ports is 4.3.2.

Actually there are two ports ready and waiting for becoming committed: >>>>

I don't see how that is a redefinition.

None of my systems have a file /etc/make.conf. It looks like the ports were updated on May 21 2023. I'll try updating them tomorrow and run again.

I updated /usr/ports and did another make. (removed the work* directory first). The build went fine with no errors. However, install failed:

Sorry, but I haven't had committers in mind as the only reason. I have had also in mind what contributors to those PR might have missed to deliver.

Committers are likely the ones that check the sufficiency of the PR
materials. If they start to handle the PR but notice some problem with
the materials, they likely would explicitly ask for the issue to be fixed.
