I am always interested in whether these criminals predominantly use an
iPhone or Android phone, but here's yet another criminal using their phone while committing a crime, and then that phone is used against them in
court.

Caleb Flynn, former 'American Idol' contestant, found guilty of murdering

"In a spree of texts the day before his wifeos death, Flynn assured
Botner he was going to get a divorce the following day."

"I was up until 4 a.m. last night crying, literally thinking of ways
to kill her and not go to jail," Flynn wrote in a message to his
paramour in August 2025."

The murderer would have known to delete those texts, I would think, if at
all possible, but probably unbeknownst to the murderer...

One or both of them must be on the iphone/ipad because they didn't even
know just deleting the app doesn't make all those 107K messages go away.

"A digital forensics examiner said Flynn's electronic devices recorded
roughly 200 steps at intermittent times in the hour before he called
911 to report his wife had been shot. Around 2:30 a.m., when Flynn
called 911, another 346 steps were recorded."

I'm curious what app records that information without the user knowing it?

Apple watch is used by a lot of people who don't know how anything works.

Do you wonder what kind of car they are driving when someone gets the license plate number of the getaway car? And then that car is used against them in court?

Do you wonder what kind of gun they were using when they robbed the bank?
And then that gun is used against them in court?

So what difference does it make what kind of phone they were using?

Criminals are basically stupid. They ALWAYS leave some sort of evidence
behind. If the phone is collecting evidence, then BRAVO to the phone.

told the cops he immediately called 911 but they confiscated his watch.

Police say there's something like 500 steps between the shots and calling
911 (sufficient to change clothes, get rid of the gun, & clean up a bit).

His mistress told him how to delete the apps and they both thought that
would get rid of the hundred thousand messages (300 a day!) between them.

He's definitely an iphone/ipad owner but I'm not sure about her yet.

As I said, criminals are stupid. They ALWAYS leave evidence behind.

A murderer caught by an Apple Watch. Good for Apple! If he was caught by a Samung phone, then Good for Samsung!

Whatever helps courts convict murderers is good for society.
