substnote is a new package for the notation of substitution.
Textbooks write rCLthe result of substituting t for x in phirCY
in half a dozen ways, and the two slash conventions are mirror
images of one another.
The package provides one command and lets the convention
be chosen once in the preamble, so that a manuscript can be
retargeted without editing the formulas.
