Summary description: Lua Implementation of Calendrical Calculations by Dershowitz & Reingold
Announcement text: ------------------------------------------------------------------------
lua-calendrica is a Lua port of the calendar conversion algorithms
from Calendrical Calculations: The Ultimate Edition (4th ed.) by
Reingold & Dershowitz.
It covers over 20 calendar systems including Gregorian, Julian,
Hebrew, Islamic, Chinese, Hindu (traditional and astronomical),
Mayan, Persian, Tibetan, Balinese, and more, staying close to
the structure of the book's reference implementation.
The module is purely computational with no formatting or
typesetting functionality, and has no dependencies beyond
Lua 5.3 or later.
For an example of use with typesetting in LuaTeX, see the
upcoming release of polyglossia, where support for Chinese
lunisolar calendar will be added.
