Is there a file search utility being used that searches for a specific file or directory on any pack unit. If so, please share.

    Thank you

On which platform, OS220 or MCP? If MCP have you looked at PDIR? I don't currently have access to an MCP environment to verify if it will search any pack or if you have to specify the pack.

The Metalogic DIR utility is a very powerful file search facility on MCP systems.

You don't have to specify a pack for SYSTEM/PDIR, but it will scan only the current default pack. You can specify one pack, and one pack only, no wildcards allowed, and family substitution does not work either.

SYSTEM/PUNIT will give you pack names.
