Except that it is NOT Mac competition.

Can it be ordered with Linux, perferably Ubuntu or Mint, factory-installed and actually able to use ALL the hardware?
ItrCOs an IdeaPad, so I suspect
that it canrCOt. My Lenovo IdeaPad, now running Ubuntu after a considerable struggle, lacks Linux drivers for certain hardware, notably the fingerprint reader (which I wasnrCOt using anyway) and the camera (trivially replaced by a USB camera, but annoying), will soon be replaced by a new unit. IrCOd get a MBP rather than a Neo, so I probably wouldnrCOt get a Vibe anyway, but my sister might need a replacement for her ancient Dell, now running Ubuntu.

AGAIN, the problem with Windows PCs is NOT the PC hardware. Nor the
colors. The problem is Windows.
Windows 11 is a steaming pile of shit. The updates are an ugly mess. Windows 11 is the least secure software in the galaxy. Random shit will be automatically downloaded AND installed when you plug in a fucking MONITOR.
The UI is an inconsistent jumble of junk dating from Windows 2000 to
today. The error messages are complete gobbledygook.
Not to mention how creepy Windows 11 has become with notices like rCLWe noticed that you do this or that at this certain time every dayrCY. WTF is that? Who are rCLWerCY why are rCLWerCY watching me every day?
And rCLAIrCY in Notepad? Who at MS thought THAT was a Good Idea? Windows Recall? Remember THAT fiasco? How the hell did that idea make it into
a Press Release? Because obviously everyone wants a Windows PC with built-in spyware from the good folks at Microsoft, with their sterling
track record of privacy/security.
The Mac Neo took off because it was a low priced Mac. NOT a low priced Windows PC. There have ALWAYS been low priced Windows PCs. And now we know there was pent-up demand for a low priced Mac.
I bought a Neo because Why Not? I did not need it, but it was too good
to pass up. I got a 1 month old, barely used 512GB version for $600. It runs just fine and way better than any $600 Windows PC will ever run with
8GB RAM running bloated, rusting, listing, barnacle-encrusted Windows 11.
