• IBM 4019 ROMs

Has anyone bothered to dump the ROMs from the IBM 4019 yet?

If not, it may be time to disassemble one of the things, find the ROMs,
and dump them... or worse still, one of the IBM 4029s.

I'm specifically looking for the font images in them, as they appear to
have never been archived or captured anywhere else. (Quite a rarity
these days to find anything like that.)

No luck here, I had a 4049 for over ten years.

No, I trashed my 4019s and 4029s years ago. I might still have the
Postscript font diskettes lying around somewhere.

    Hi Josh !

Has anyone bothered to dump the ROMs from the IBM 4019 yet?

I still have the ruined 4019 in my basement that had been run until its mechanics quit. And I could pull the ROMs at some time and get them read
if you need them. And I *think* I even have sets of spare ROMs at
someplace left overs from the time I was servicing these machines on a
    daily basis.

I am halfway thru creating a PPDS "emulator" (that will convert PPDS
data streams to a .PNG, PostScript, a PDF, etc., or send it to another
printing system like CUPS). A major missing piece is that I don't have
the Courier or Boldface PS built in fonts.

Having multiple versions of the ROMs would be very interesting... might
lead to being able to do a full emulation of it.

The soft font diskettes would be extremely helpful.
