• not many using the Atari with internet

I guess there are not many that are using the internet with their atari computer. I use it with my TT030 and a picowifi device.

I have STing setup and I am currently using TROLL to access the NNTP
servers and a GMX email account that I can access.

There is a security module made for TROLL that allows you to use SSL
and TLS - so there are still some services out there that you can
access with the minimal security required.

It would be cool if we had a handful of actual users reading and using
the newsgroups. Heck that is the point of retro right.. enjoying the
    good old days.

I'm going out on a limb here and say that there probably are not many
that are using their atari computer at all these days :)

I still have a couple ST machines in a box that I need to check. I know
at least one was working when it went in there, but I've never before
had an Atari ST so it's a whole new world for me to explore.

Interesting. I did a web search, found STing, the TCP/IP stack for TOS,
but searching 'Atari TROLL' doesn't return much useful results :) Would
    you mind providing a link?

Also, what ethernet adapter are you using? Or are you doing some kind of
    SLIP or something?

I can, if I want to, access my news server without SSL, so I wouldn't
    even need that security module.

I promise that I'll try and access usenet on an Atari ST once I've got
    them up and running!

    Cheers,

    Koen

I'm flooding www.atari-forum.com with my software updates...

And here, a Belgian FTP maintainer posts links some years ago to
    download from https://www.mmnt.net/db/0/1/kurobox.serveftp.net/
