    Hi Denizens,

    If it ain't broke, don't "fix" it.-a :-)

I bought my old biege G3 PowerMac brand new and used it for about 20
years before it finally broke and had to be replaced. Most of that time
    I also used a dial-up internet connection.

Too many people waste far too much money continually upgrading their
gadgets for no real reason other than having the latest new toy to play with. The greedy tech companies also enforce this stupidity byt
releasing a new model every year with a minor tweak and discontinuing support for still perfectly usable older devices.-a :-\

I agree generally with your thesis on undue expenditures but what
I am running now cost me no more than that C_64 and Vic-1541 as it was refurbished
or perhaps never sold and used. I got the Precision thru Walmant and it certainly
weighs as much as the C-64 and 1541 especially with a monitor. But it
    weighs less
than my Amiga 2000b with 68060 card and 3.4 GB hard drive. The Amiga became usuable as I was its second owner and the battery started to leak.

And this is my 6th x86 desktop replacement. lighter than a KPro suitcase
    portable.
GNU/Linux OSes are not AmigaOS but they do have memory protection
which still will not defeat an idiot attempting to back up but erasing
    their past.
The new models are released to keep up with the demands of the Microsoft products.

What stupid and fake idea!!! Amiga was developed by startup and acquired
by Commodore corpo! And then Irving Gould fired Commodore founder Idek
Trzmiel (polish Jude survived from holocaust), in addition he fired
original electronics and programmers. And then, in few years, Commodore
corpo sunk with broken and outdated Amigas!!!
