• OT: A personal thank you

    From Dnews@dnews@triffid.co.uk to comp.sys.acorn.networking on Mon Aug 10 19:24:30 2026
    From Newsgroup: comp.sys.acorn.networking

Pardon me for writing an OT message, but for me it is RISC OS and
    Networking...

I'd like to publicly, within the RISC OS family, thank Richard of Orpheus internet for his worthy advice and assistance while getting FTTP
    installed and functioning here.

Also for arranging a VOIP account and setting it all up for us. :-)

No doubt some nay-sayer will respond with, "It's his job", and indeed it
is, but I've always found Richard to be generous with his time, and always willing to make an extra effort above and beyond the expected, when it's required.

So thank you Richard for your advice and assistance over the years, with
many things since we moved our networking to Orpheus.

    Dave n' Fay Symes.

    Dave,

    Good to hear.

I'm about to make the same trip - on 27th, to fibre and VOIP.
Orpheus may not be the cheapest, but it's nice to deal with a company that knows RO.

I can only second that. Chose to move to Orpheus last month as a
consequence of BT closing down our landline service and PlusNet unable to offer VOIP. Richard was extremely helpful, patient and efficient, and the move to SoGEA and VOIP went very smoothly.
