Well, if this works (and I'm pretty sure it will), it will show not only
that the forthcoming version of NewsHound supports NNTPS, but also that
the Orpheus news server supports it too.

Version 1.54, the last one I built (and which I have failed to release
in any meaningful way) added support for STARTTLS and fixed a few minor
bugs and zero page accesses. Version 1.55 adds support for NNTPS, the secure-from-get-go version of NNTP.

If you don't need STARTTLS or NNTPS and you haven't noticed any bugs
or ZeroPain logs, you don't need to upgrade. That having been said,
NewsHound is free, and I know of nothing that the newer versions take
away.

It didn't quite work, except in that it allowed diagnosis and fix of
another configuration issue in the Orpheus news server.

It's about 17:20 BST now, and I'm going to post this via Orpheus any
moment, so if this is accessible within minutes, I'll be able to say
it's all working.

It worked, of course. I was rather surprised to see that it took about
10 minutes to propagate to Eternal September. But it got there, which
is what matters most.
