    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone here has replaced the Iyonix video card for one
    with HDMI output

The Iyonix uses specific models of Nvidia PCI (not PCIe) card - the GeForce
2 MX and FX5500 are mentioned here as working, and I think some other
    GeForce FX-series may too:

I don't believe there are any of that era (~2005) which have HDMI ports, but some have DVI and DVI to HDMI is just a passive cable. (ie HDMI monitors support DVI signals on the HDMI port as a backwards compatibility mode)

What you won't get is audio, which is supported on HDMI but not DVI.

Thanks Theo, not terribly worried about sound. I think somewhere I have a
VGA to HDMI adaptor, but I was trying to avoid additional hardware
    external to the machine.

If you're still on VGA, a card with DVI may offer improved picture quality
and connection to an HDMI monitor/TV with a simple cable rather than a converter.

You could try a GeForce FX card that has DVI with a PCI interface (not PCIe, not AGP) although you might need to hunt for one - there are a few on ebay
but they are crazy-expensive. Perhaps other RISC OS folks may have one
spare that's known to work on the Iyonix.
