    It's quite simple to get the key,just sign up with API Layer:

    <https://apilayer.com/signup>

    Then subscribe to the Exchange Rate API:

    I went to get another key and got the same one so it seems that one API
    key is assigned to an individual and can be used for several apps. Am I correct?

    Yes, but the data usage does not affect other apps.
