Nothing wrong with profit.
But the ONLY reason MS is now announcing this is because Windows is tanking.
Linux is way up and Macs are way up. So MS is now embarrassed into trying to "fix Windows".
But it is many years too late. MANY years of "Windows is too big to fail" and "Everyone will just accept whatever shit we do with Windows because there is
no viable alternative". Shit like CoPilot. Shit like Windows 11. Shit like ads in Windows 11.
Shit like the absolutely astonishing fact that plugging in a fucking monitor - of all things - results in random software automatically downloading and installing. AND Microsoft is blaming LG for that!
How incredibly bizarre and insecure is that? What's next? MS blaming hackers for using other security holes in Windows?
I'm sure Kodak and Polaroid felt the same way 25 years ago. "We own the
camera business" and "We are too big to fail". Then digital cameras came along - and later phones - and now Kodak and Poloroid are both gone.
Yes, today there are still companies called "Kodak" and "Polaroid". But they are nothing compared to what they were 30 years ago.
This is where Microsoft is headed. They currently have no products that people want to buy today. The people who still use their products wish that the products worked the way they did 20 years ago.
That is not a recipe for future success.
