    I remember first being exposed to this w/ my good old Apple ][+ w/ cp/m
    card. 300 baud modems....yowza!

    300 baud Comm-Pac modem in an Osborne O1 for me.
    Then I graduated to the major leagues with a shiny new Hays 1200 baud smartmodem! I still remember some of the BBSs and RCP/M systems on the dial-up list.

    He was a great programmer too. I had the opportunity a few times to peruse/update his code.
