Thunderbird has worked well for many years for me.

Thunderbird seems to be working, but I've only seen two messages in comp.os.cpm in a couple of weeks. Is the newsgroup dead, or is it just me?

I've no idea yet how many GG users have not found a Usenet provider or
aren't even trying. Maybe we really have lost some important
neighbours. CP/M will stay being a nice topic and the ones having
pointers to comp.os.cpm in their CP/M websites, blogs, YT channels, GIT repositories, ... please should update these to reflect the new
situation and point to some well known Usenet providers.
Adding/updating links to comp.os.cpm posts in blogs & Co to use a
service like <https://comp.os.cpm.narkive.com> may be useful too.

Ah, so that's what might be happening. Sad, becuse I would not touch
GG with a ten-foot pole. Anyway, I'm still here and reading your
    messages.

Ah, is that it? Seems like half a year ago the group was still pretty
active and the dropoff in activity was fairly sudden.

I've been a comp.os.cpm reader (and, less often, postter) since its
heyday in the '80s. It will be quit a loss if it dies.

Some valuable participants will doubtless no longer make an appearance. But
a lot of noisy, spammy, clueless people will be gone too, since getting
proper Usenet access takes a bit of effort and/or $.

Way back when, before the first major wave of the largely unwashed, Usenet
was mostly techie (or in some groups, I suppose liberal-artsy) content, not junk.
