Well , I could not reproduce today the super IO speeds from yesterday.:)
    I got the results between 150/400 MB/sec.

So I decided to install virtualbox-7.2.2. It works fine.
And the results are again 600 MB/sec.:)
In fact I got results from circa from 200 up to 600 MB/s . It changes with every call
of Bonnie. And for non believers I have made photos :).
    So far so good.
Now about cloning. I have made so called full clone of virtual machine
on my E: disk, SSD SATA 256 GB disc, and on my F: disc, SSD Mvme 1TB disc, both discs from GOODRAM, Polish manufacturer.

The IO speeds are comparable to those mentioned above for C:disc (also SATA SSD). A little bit disappointing that results for NVMe disc are not better.

Notice, that in VirtualBox settings I use IDE controller and not for example SATA ICH controller. Virtual machine in this case boots fine and Bonnie gives comparable results, but for some reason networking does not work oops :).
    HTH.

Concerning my mentioning problems with networking for ICH controller,
I suspect, that the problem is caused by ich chipset, which in VirtualBox
uses MSI for networkingi(??), current Coherent Gigabit driver does not support MSI. I am not planning to add this support soon. My conclusion comes from reading changes info on VirtualBox site.

What concerns NVME, well beginning from version 7.2.0 support for NVMe emulation was added, but it would require from Coherent at driver to use
NVMe protocol too. It means having real NVMe hardware does not change the behaviour of VirtualBox for legacy IDE/SATA controller. If You set the type
of controller to nvme then VirtualBox will try to "speak" with guest OS using nvme protocol.

    HTH
