Good afternoon,
I was able to install Coherent on SSD with SATA3 support. It was MX500 from Crucial. It worked in both cases :
a) using prepared boot floppy with minimal set of programs, kernel cohtestSAY13z b) installing tbootit Bare metal and then restoring the partitions using backup DVD made with Image for DOS(part of tbootit) on native standalone system.
I have used Fujitsu Esprimo PC with Xeon processor, ICH10 chipset.

Good afternoon,
I have mentioned kernel cohtestSAY13z , when using boot floppy.
Before booting from this bootable floppy You have patch this kernel
And now You can boot from floppy using cohtestSAY14z.
BTW in order to create partition on this SSD disc You can use cfdisk :
cfdisk -c 40000 -h 16 -s 63 /dev/at0x.
After creation of partition reboot the floppy and continue the job.
Number of cylinders is arbitrary, up to circa 60000. If You want only one partition You can use number of cylinders of the 500 MB partition, 1023.
