My old phone burst so I have a new phone and I decided to join the
with-in generation by getting a case that has a cover for the camera
    lens.

Is it worth having a camera cover if the phone won't stay on the
magnetic bracket, or is it possible to have both?

I don't want a bracket that squeezes he phone because i often take it
off to do something while at a red light. The magnet was great when it worked.

I keep my phone in my front pocket, try to keep keys in the other pocked
and have never scratched the lens, but I thought I should not tempt
    fate.

But it's thicker elsewhere too and depite having a one-inch metal button
that is supposed to work with the magnetic cellphone holder, it keeps
falling off the dashboard. I've put the big metal plate inside the
case but that didn't help, I think, because the case is so much thicker
than the 2- or 3-mm aoft case the prior phone had.

This one also has a fold-out "leg" that lets it sit at an angle when
sitting sidewasys. That's nice but it makes the non-lens area thicker.

Am I going to be able to find a case with a lens cover that won't do
this??? Or should I give up on the lens cover and look for a simple
    case?

Have any of you ever scratched your camera's lens? Did it ruin the
    pictures?

In the UK it is an offence to have your phone in your hand, while in the driving seat of a vehicle, unless you are parked in a safe place with
    the engine off.
At a red light would earn you lots of penalty points/fine/ban.
