Note the warning from the Ericsson boss that the whole rCLdigital sovereigntyrCY movement is rCLdangerousrCY -- scaremongering language, if
ever there was such a thing. Sure, the prices will likely be higher.
But remember, that money will be going to local businesses, not to the
USA. And itrCOll be in EUR, not USD. That will likely help the economy
more than hurt it.

It's a shame that we don't have some process to establish open source
protocols for use on the internet for these sorts of things... you know,
like the RFCs..... nobody uses THOSE anymore.

I've already almost lost my voice from calling for interoperability so
often.

Sure interoperability does NOT mean that every key shall open your front
door! Maybe some just mix that up?

"People" didn't forget -- most "people" still very much want
interoperability and for their comms to "just work".

For-profit corporations abandoned interoperability because there was
more profit to be obtained from walled gardens than from
interoperability.

Arguably, people forgot BECAUSE of for-profit companies, I have met so
many people who assume Google Docs or MSOffice is the default and get
all surprised when I talk about using LibreOffice.
