    This message announces the availability of Scheme release scm-5f5.

    SCM conforms to Revised^5 Report on the Algorithmic Language Scheme
    and the IEEE P1178 specification. SCM is written in C, runs on a wide
    variety of platforms, and is highly optimized for the symbolic
    mathematics computations performed by the JACAL interactive symbolic
    math system.

    SCM is free software and part of the GNU project. It is released
    under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL).

    Documentation and distributions in several formats are linked from

    scm-5f5 news:

    * scm-5f5 adds functions erf, erfc, log-gamma, real-gamma, exp-1, and
    log1+ if the C compiler supports C99.

    * scm-5f5 won't choke if a soft-port is used after transcript-off.
