John Siegler worked as the head writer and producer of production company Rave Music, led by CEO John Loeffler, which produced jingles and theme songs for commercials and television shows. When 4Kids was tasked with coming up with a 60-second jingle for a new Japanese show called Pok|-mon, Grossfeld turned to Rave.
The man who got the job was Jason Paige, a writer, actor and singer in his late 20s who had been doing 100-150 sessions a year (by his own estimation) singing jingles, theme songs and background vocals to pay his bills.
