Probably the distinguishing factor is that the program requires no installation, as it is Java-based, and this allows it to be employed by users from virtually any platform. All the standard browser tools are available, such as the address bar, back, refresh, and forward commands, as well as zoom functions.
The layout is very user-friendly, as large buttons control most of the program's navigation. As with most other browsers, the GUI is very clean and users will find no menu items cluttering the interface; all the main functions can be accessed via a simple button placed on the upper-right area.
Comment oct 8 2019:
Falkon browser up running after reinstalling Ubuntu. :-)
It's a System 76 Meerkat desktop. A week ago I tried to install Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS, but it could'nt find the GPU. Instead I installed Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS, which found the GPU, then I updated to 18.04.3 LTS before installing any software/apps. Everything is perfect now.

Falkon is a KDE web browser using QtWebEngine rendering engine, previously known as QupZilla. It aims to be a lightweight web browser available through all major platforms. This project has been originally started only for educational purposes. But from its start, Falkon has grown into a feature-rich browser.
Falkon has all standard functions you expect from a web browser. It includes bookmarks, history (both also in sidebar) and tabs. Above that, it has by default enabled blocking ads with a built-in AdBlock plugin.

A secure browser that protects your privacy is a critical tool for staying safe online and keeping your data secure from third parties. In this guide we are going to be analyzing the most secure browsers that also protect your privacy online.
WARNING: Many browsers today are actually data collection tools for advertising companies. This is the case for Google Chrome, the largest and most popular browser. By collecting data through your browser, these companies can make money through their advertising partners with targeted ads. We see this same privacy-abusing business model with search engines, email services, and even free mobile apps.
This guide is not meant to sell everyone on one browser that beats all others. Rather, it is a summary of information about different web browsers that do well with both privacy and security. Choose the best browser for you based on your own unique needs and threat model.
Brave is arguably the most secure browser with simple, out-of-the-box privacy. It is a Chromium-based browser that is fast, secure, and privacy-focused by default. It has a built-in ad blocker and browser fingerprinting protection, while also giving you access to numerous add-ons and extensions. The main developer behind Brave is Brandon Eich, who formerly worked for Mozilla.
As one example of these innovations, Brave is currently developing a private search engine called Brave Search. Additionally, Brave continues to improve and innovate with its browser, which is growing in popularity.
Firefox is a great all-around browser for privacy and security. It offers strong privacy protection features, many customization options, excellent security, and regular updates with an active development team. The newest version of Firefox is fast and lightweight with many privacy customization options.
Next up we have the Tor browser. The Tor browser is a hardened version of Firefox that is configured to run on the Tor network. By default, the Tor Browser is a secure browser that protects you against browser fingerprinting, but it also has some disadvantages.
Because it uses the Tor network, which routes traffic over three different hops, download speeds with the Tor browser can be quite slow. The default version may also break some sites due to script blocking. Finally, there are also drawbacks with the Tor network itself, including malicious/dangerous exit nodes, high latency, dependence on US government financing, and some consider it to be fundamentally compromised. There are also many websites that block IP addresses originating from the Tor network.
Bromite is a Chromium-based browser for Android only (no desktop support). It comes with some great features by default, including ad blocking and various privacy enhancements. Here are some highlights of this browser from the official Bromite website:
ungoogled-chromium retains the default Chromium experience as closely as possible. Unlike other Chromium forks that have their own visions of a web browser, ungoogled-chromium is essentially a drop-in replacement for Chromium.
On a positive note, however, Apple does somewhat better with privacy than other large companies. The Safari browser blocks third-party cookies by default and also implements cross-site tracking protection.
Finding the best secure browser all comes down to identifying the best fit for your unique needs. Since this is a personal decision with subjective criteria, We tend to avoid recommending only one option for all use cases.
I am really curious to know if it is possible to run a web browser on real ST/STe hardware. There would be two challenges. First, how would the computer connect to a wired or wireless network? Is there a cartridge port adapter? I would assume the cartridge port is faster than the serial port. Second, could the 8 MHz 68000 processor handle the workload of rendering a webpage? Webpages are complicated, especially now with all the scripts, animations, and graphics. I remember using a program called Lynx a long time ago. It's a text based browser. Imagine viewing a webpage in "Reader Mode" and that's probably the best way to think of Lynx. The program is still around. Google it.
The biggest problem here, and it is an ongoing problem with ALL computers, is the weaponizing of the Internet for commerce. It's the commerce ads, pop-ups, etc. that are such a resource-hog that it is requiring faster and more powerful computers to be able to work on the internet at all, and people like Mozilla, greedy bastards, are more than willing to allow changes to the web browsing experience just to get even more money into their pockets while forcing the users to have to buy new computers every year just to be able to use the internet. I had a friend running a stripped-down old laptop with some kind of browser that basically eliminated all pop-ups, ads, etc. and that old laptop, running XP I think, worked well and was good for the internet. What we really need is a browser that stops all that jack-assery that the current browsers use to screw the pooch, meaning us.
I am getting an error with UiPath studio and Chrome Extension not working: Open Browser: Cannot communicate with the browser, please check the UiPath extension I have already reinstalled the extension multiple times, reinstalled UiPath Studio and followed the documentation located at these links:
Hi rmunro,
IE is the most reliable but Microsoft does not have support for that anymore. If enterprise has an issue with IE then unfortunately you are on your own. So other browsers are also crucial.
Best,
Rahym S.
NANO Browser is extremely flexible and it can be used with all major operating systems including Linux platforms. This is actually the first mainstream browser to have been produced by Indian manufacturers. The system supports numerous languages and it is particularly respected for its ability to offer high-speed downloads from countless websites. It is also quite secure and with the help of built-in firewall protection, users can remain fully confident that their personal information will remain safe at all times.
We take the sameD3 visualizations fromtheir live demo, but usingFalconVisinstead with more than 10x the data (from 260,000 to 3,000,000). We usea parquet file loaded into theDuckDBWASM in-browser database in this example.
Falkon (formerly QupZilla) is a lightweight web browser based on QtWebEngine. Being quite lean, Falkon is visually attractive and functional. It excellently integrates into desktop environments and looks good on KDE and LXQt.

.NET Framework 4.5.1 is absolutely necessary to run this software. The installer will attempt to install it automatically, but in the event that it fails to complete its job, you will need to download and install .NET Framework 4.5.1 manually.
