<div>I love this song! It is actually about quite a sad subject. But I always loved the melody and only learned what it was about later when Jesse told me. Sometimes I hear a song and get an urge to cover it before I know the first thing about it. I recorded it over a decade ago and must've got to know him around that time too. I now sing it just at the piano, when out on the open mic circuit here in Glasgow. Jesse Malin is a cool NY artist with a great band who tour regularly (over here in the UK too- he loves King Tuts...). He has an extensive musical history and has worked with a whole host of incredible artists. He has Bruce Springsteen singing on this. The original is soft and sweet, quite different and, being a nurse, the Sunday stomachaches he sings about mean something quite different to me now. I encourage you to go and listen to his music. You'll find this song on his 2007 album Glitter in the Gutter. Better still see him live.
