https://t.co/RvK3fiAgtV </div><div></div><div></div><div>Hello my 5th grade intramural students are learning about ball scoring games, and the relationship to the game buzzer. For instance, in basketball if you shoot the ball, if the buzzer goes off to end a quarter/game/shot clock and your ball falls through the basket the score is good. The question for soccer is: if a kick of the ball occurs in the air towards the goal, and the buzzer goes off to end the 12 or match, and the ball goes into the goal after the buzzer sounds, is it a score? I said that I didn't think so, but we are checking with your expertise! Thanks - Students at Chautauqua Elementary Vashon Island, WA</div><div></div><div></div><div>Hi Rchelle</div><div></div><div> Once the whistle sounds or the horn / buzzer sounds in NFHS the game is over and no further play is allowed. So a ball that has not crossed the goal line before the sound will not be allowed should it subsequently do so.</div><div></div><div>Does it happen very often. Well no and not very often in FIFA games as the timing is not exact down to the second. A referee can find a second or so see the outcome of a shot before ending the game. </div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>Read other questions answered by Referee Joe McHugh</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>View Referee Joe McHugh profile</div><div></div><div></div><div>I remember there was a time when the NBA and/or college basketball's rule on buzzer beaters was that the shot would count as long as the ball left the shooter's hand before the buzzer sounded. It didn't matter if the clock had hit 0.0, it only mattered if the shot was released before the horn sounded. This meant that if the person controlling the horn had a delayed reaction, then it was possible for a team to win a game by making a shot that had been released after the clock hit 0.0 but before the buzzer sounded.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>A Vegas sports book, though in many ways resembling your neighborhood sports bar, is a very different place. The normal sports bar will contain normal fans. The cheering is from the heart and fairly good-natured. This is not the case at Bally's Sports Book. Oh, yes, there's cheering and booing... but not of the good-natured sort. Everyone in a sports book is a fucking mercenary. When a fan bitterly jeers another missed Pippen free throw, that "fan" just lost a thousand bucks. On the other end of the spectrum are wild, hysterical whoops of joy when a team, down by 10, scores a meaningless basket as the buzzer sounds. That basket just made someone $10,000.</div><div></div><div> df19127ead</div>
