From Newsgroup: comp.lang.lisp

Now either go away and shill Microsoft junk on
comp.lang.basic.visual.misc where they're predisposed to like this

above Common Lisp libraries and post something on topic. But stop
hawking F# on a newsgroup specifically devoted to Common Lisp.
The name of this newsgroup is comp.lang.lisp, not
comp.lang.common-lisp or comp.lang.cobol-like.
And yet he has the audacity to say that this
group is specifically devoted to Common Lisp.

Oh, that's just an artifact of the Great Renaming, which was 1986-7. comp.lang.lisp is the new name of the old net.lang.lisp. The first
message was there can be found at http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&group=net.lang.lisp&scoring=d&as_drrb=b&as

It's by John Foderaro. The first sentence is:
"The net.lang.lisp newsgroup is for the discussion of any and all lisp dialects."
See? "any and all lisp dialects"
This group is definitely not specifically devoted to Common Lisp
(COBOL-Like).
And the group was created before CLTL was published.
Unfortunately, disciples of CL moved in and tried to take
over.
If Lisp is to live, then CL must die.

[T]he problem is that lispniks are as cultish as any other devout group and basically fall down frothing at the mouth if they see [heterodoxy].
