  • gopher + rss question

    Hello Everyone, I'd like to use my regular newsreader (newsboat) to read rss from gopher if possible, but when I add a gopher:// link, it says unknown protocol. I'm wondering is someone already have a solution, or I need to use a bridge kindof thing which download the feed from gemini, and then somehow feed it to newsboat ?

    I'd appreciate any advice :)

    You can use the execurl feature to call curl on your system which
    hopefully has gopher support built in: https://newsboat.org/releases/2.18/docs/newsboat.html#_scripts_and_filters_snownews_extensions

    I would like to suggest using an alternative newsreader. sfeed is my preference, it saves me having to do hacks like that to pull feeds
    from gopher. It is also a very nice, featureful yet minimalist feed
    reader.
