I can't get the fill to work
I draw a circle, both with a pen and with a brush and
try to fill the circle with the foreground color

    Nothing happens

These questions are based on an older GIMP.

    1. How do you draw the circle? Is it still selected?

    2. What Fill Type do you have selected?

    3. What do you have selected for Affected Area?

    - make a closed circle with something
    - click with the fuzzy select tool inside that circle to select the
    area
    - click with the bucket fill tool inside that circle to color it
    - click with the rectangle select tool outside the cicrcle to get the
    color permanent

    Thank you.
I figured out to use fill under edit. What a strange place
to put fill. It is simple and works like paint
