rCo A handful of upstart wireless providers like MobileX and DISH
    Network Corp's DISH-0.69%+ Free Alerts

rCo Boost Infinite failed to gain traction despite offering monthly
service plans at less than half the average cost of the major
    national networks.

rCo Each of these challengers is reselling service provided by one of
the big three carriers AT&T Inc, Verizon Communications Inc, or
T-Mobile US Inc through wholesale agreements known as mobile virtual
network operators or MVNOs, Bloomberg reports.

I find it unlikely that MVNO's will take a substantial chunk of the big
3's customers. Either way, the big 3 are being paid for the bandwidth
that the MVNO's are using, and they could just as easily up their rates
if they become a threat, since the MVNO's don't have their own equipment.
