they are voting for Pauline, herself, rather than for one of the 151
(maybe) candidates that One Nation might put up in a Federal Election.

Vic Lower House.)

That has nothing whatever to do with what you need to do to have
any possibility of getting your candidate elected by the voters in it

Tho certainly one notion did decide on a candidate in Farrer very
late and he did win, but that was a very unusual byelection due
to the resignation of Sussan Ley who got kicked out of the LIb
leadership and byelections are nothing like normal elections
