The lend/lease program was not enacted until the spring of 1941. No >battles or attacks were associated with this. So no, it was not the
start of the war for the USA.
Even if WW2 started in 1941 for the US, would that justify the
statement "WW2 started in 1941"?
Australia officially declared war on the Empire of Japan two days
after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
