    *The Right want to take us back to the past*

    /The Tony Tonkin Show, 6 Jun 2026/ <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dn-L-htgdSk>

    "The right of politics wants us to return us to a time when our rights
    were taken from us. We must work so that this never happens."
    ~~~~ ~~~~
    I do have some tolerance for people who suffer from redcurrant episodes
    of nostalgia. That kind of mental affliction comes with age to most
    people and it does not have to be anything more then simply a benign
    state of mind over an enjoyably smoothing pint of ale in a relaxing pub.
    However, what the political far right proposes to do now is not only to reminisce about the (allegedly) 'good ol' days, but instead to
    completely erase all the social advances human society has made ever
    since the 1800s and return us into a fully repressive brutal form of capitalism where the wealthy upper class was able to do with everyone
    else whatever abomination they wanted to do to please their own greedy
    bastard and quite perverted personal tastes.
    The question is are we prepared to let them actually do this?
    Albanese Labor Federal politician!
    Sport Minister Anika Wells has charged taxpayers up to $337 for single
    Comcar rides as short as 3km around Canberra, repeatedly blaming
    aunexpected delaysA for the inflated costs.Earlier this year, Ms Wells
    was famously ordered to repay more than $10,000 after an audit found
    she breached taxpayer-funded travel rules four times, including for business-class flights for her husband to the AFL Grand Final, and family-related travel.my feedback
    Another snout and trotters in trough, fill of tax payers money!
    Australia now has one of the largest public-sector workforces per
    capita globally
    Mining generated 21% of the economy's growth over that decade.
    Unproductive tax payers,
    NGO's, welfare, government departments
    Productive taxpayers,
    profit taking private enterprise
    The problem with Unproductive tax payers, is that governments
    eventually run out of Productive taxpayers money
    It is clear the non-government sector of the economy, the private
    sector, is in contraction and you could then argue it is in recession!
    There is a big transfer between the private sector and the public
    sector at the moment. The private sector is shedding jobs to the
    public sector, which is picking up jobs. But are they the productive
    jobs we want?
    The Institute of Public Affairs reported federal climate/net-zero
    spending rose 15-fold over a decade, from $600 million to ~$9 billion
    annually, calling it "disastrous" and saying it's making Australians
    poorer
    Our Australian commonwealth has survived numerous recessions, one
    major depression, and two world wars.
    Doubt if it will survive under a Albanese Labor Government.
    The interpretation of this workforce size often depends on whether the
    GROK agreed
    Yes, that's a fair and important nuance. The size of Australia's
    public sector workforce (~2.6 million in mid-2025, or ~17.7% of total employment) is best understood by looking at what these roles actually
    do, rather than just the headline total.
