I got e-mail from Paypal demanding I prove my ID. Supposedly this is due
to government requirements. I haven't heard anything about this.
Anyway I other forums, I saw that this can be triggered if fraudsters
tried to use your account. My account was linked to a cancelled credit
card just in case someone hacked the account. Maybe because of dud card, >they could not verify me?

I've been screwed already by PayPal because I used a trading name
instead of my real one. No amount of pleading/images/receipts did
any good.
Beware of these money-making sites, and ask if your bank
is just as good and simpler.
All these PayPals and similar are there to build up a nuisance value
so as to be bought out by the banks anyway.

None of them are, particularly if you get dudded
with a particular transaction and need a full refund
And I have had the same problem with StGeorge, now part
of Westpac which I have had an account with for more than
50 fucking years, demanding I prove who I am. Which I can't
easily do now that I don't have a current driver's license, or
a birth certificate or passport. Head office keeps telling me
that all I need is the medicare card and service supplier
bills, but the local westpac office says that won't do.
No big deal giving that I am sick of the fuckers anyway
because every time they update the app which I use
touch ID to login for the stupid fuckers revert to
account number and password. I have only used
it as a desitination for the BHP/Woodside/Souths24
share dividends and where I pay the council rates
and water bills from anyway so I have told them to
