• If kettle doesn't switch off when water boils, beware

    Yesterday, put the kettle on to make coffee, and I noticed that it did
    not cut off when the water boiled. This morning, I put it on again, and
    after about 20 seconds, I see orange glow through the transparent level indicator, then smoke started coming out, yikes! I guess the thermostat
    at the bottom sprung a leak.
    It was a cheapie from Target or K-mart, 6 years old.
