Doubt if it will survive under a Albanese Labor Government.

    HAVE YOU BROKEN A PROMISE
*The right decision is to do the right thing with the right policies
    at the right time
*Young people, and their parents and grandparents are worried they
will never own their own home
*They are frustrated with the intergeneration all equity.
*Any responsible government must take these issues seriously.
*We have focused on housing supply but it's become increasingly clear
that we need to use every lever we can to get Australians into homes -
to meet our 1.2 million new homes target.
*We have already announced extra funding for getting the last mile of infrastructure - the roads, water, and power needed to get more
housing projects over the line. We are also making it easier to get
faster approvals for projects including housing.

    I do run CCleaner.

The current versions don't wipe the system
log by default but you can certainly tell it to
do that. Trivial to check if the log is available.

    Win11 is very buggy,

    Bullshit

I have removed all of it's AI as rubbish

And in the process have completely fucked the settings

Often finding settings not only changedbut also moved from where it

How odd that that never happens with mine

I watch a lot of movies

I watched almost everything from free
to air TV on the win11 system, because
ABC iview doesnt work on the Win7

How odd that that never happens with mine

Too stupid to use a mobile plan that has those free

Some major Euopean Countries are dumping Windows 11 and switching to
Linux and seem the happier for it. <https://grok.com/share/c2hhcmQtMw_a25dfe7f-4c61-41ea-a908-dc58ee0686f0>
    Are They "Happier" For It?
Mixed but often positive where done right:
Success Stories: The French Gendarmerie migration was gradual
(starting with apps like Firefox/OpenOffice before full OS swap) and
reported lower support costs, better security, and high adoption.
Challenges: Munich's project faced compatibility issues with some
specialized software, leading to a later partial reversal. Training,
legacy apps, and ecosystem building are real hurdles.
Linux desktops have improved dramatically (better hardware support,
Wayland, Steam Proton for gaming if needed, excellent tools like
LibreOffice), but enterprise workflows tied to Microsoft (Teams,
specific Active Directory setups, proprietary line-of-business
    software) can require workarounds.

Overall, these aren't knee-jerk decisionsumany build on 10u20 years of open-source use in servers and specific agencies. The momentum has
    picked up significantly in 2025u2026.
If you're interested in specifics (e.g., which distros they're using,
technical challenges, or how this compares to private sector
adoption), let me know! Linux in government is a fascinating case of
open source proving itself at scale.

"Set time zone Automatically" it reverted the time to Summer.
    Again thanks for telling me.

The "Set time zone Automatically" has been working for at least 3

    18 months old.

Although Grok claimed my HP CMOS/BIOS being updated the day before

Came right as soon as I turned it back on, as soon as you told me.
Were not going to pander to going through Windows log files which have

Very good, Petzl! Do you see how THAT Date/Time Group *DIFFERS* to the Date/Time Group you posted previously??

clocks were turned forward one hour to 3:00 AM as well Then Auto
adjusted as it did Sunday, 5 April 2026, when clocks shifted back an
hour from 3:00 am AEDT to 2:00 am AEST

Yep. The amazing pleasures of relying on the Microslop OS! LOL!

Luckily my OS does what I want it to do and when I want it to do it.
User friendly operating systems let the user with 'sudo" privileges
determine the timing and the frequency of actual upgrades as well as
allowing for the selection of what exactly should be upgraded. On tops
the decision to reboot the system or not after the upgrade remains with
    the user.

After doing my newsgroups and whatever browsing I need to do, I also
turn off the Wi-Fi Internet and power down this computer, too, but I
often (monthly, maybe) find when I power up the Computer next evening,
that the Wi-Fi Internet is already ON.

On a user friendly OS you can lock down Wi-Fi access with a password.
No access possible until you supply the password!

Anywho, I see no reason to use Wi-Fi at home for my PCs/Laptops. I have multiple plug in access points (some of them via power points adaptors)
for hooking up to the home network. Yes, my phone and tablet do require
Wi-Fi access but these days I hardly ever use them when I am at home (I
have not touched either of them at home for months)
And, yes, I still prefer to use a land-line home phone to that bloody
mobile brain numbing addiction device! (BTW I blocked on that monster
device every single social media cesspit site it wanted me to connect to
    right out of box)

Now my memory isn't the sharpest so, sometimes, I might forget to turn
off the Wi-Fi .... but the Wi-Fi seems to be ON to often!!

How about getting a timer switch for the power outlet connected to your
Wi-Fi router, Daniel??? That would solve your problem instantly.

    Win11 is very buggy,

    Bullshit

lots of people have issues with it, but i think its more how they
    just
fucked around and moved thngs, wont be using it myself but it seems
    snappy enough

no, there's been many issues with win11 reported on

I seem to be getting ALL of them.

    And I bet Axel doesn't

I don't use the win11 computer unless I have to for some reason

System settings changing not by me.
Windows Bloatware downgrades toa make computers run slowly
(make one buy a new computer AND Windows operating system)
Bluetooth Headphones just not work in windows keep cutting out when
sound is quite (claimed to save power, it's just annoying)
Plugging headphones into sound jack activated Window unknown Blue
Screen of death requiring one to have a decryption USB key to start.
Which didn't work, Had to format drive and reinstall everything.
This list just keeps growing longer! and growing.

I installed w11 on a late model PC, and haven't done anything to it,
but every time it boots i get a blue screen telling me I have to use
recovery options. but if I just turn it off and restart it boots ok.

Except for the only man in the world who claims "Doesn't happen to me"
    Rod Speed?

No many including the local neighborhood computer repair man who
find's fixing these Windows "quirks" very lucrative.

you can always stick with w10 if you have good av protection.

Rod saysaa he still uses w7 iirc

I changed to win11 years ago now

Now my memory isn't the sharpest so, sometimes, I might forget to
turn off the Wi-Fi .... but the Wi-Fi seems to be ON to often!!

How about getting a timer switch for the power outlet connected to
your Wi-Fi router, Daniel??? That would solve your problem instantly.

But that would also take out the Landline phone also connected to the
    Wi-Fi box. ;-P

True. That is a clearly the down side of that solution.
But it also stops instantly those 3-5 seconds long randomly incoming (automated?) calls where no one seems to say anything on the other side
of the line waiting for someone verifying that the dialled number is
real (fishing-scamming galore). When I retire for the night I don't need
such nonsense disturbing my peace whatsoever! And those legit people
whom I happy to speak to can surely wait till the next morning!
(I never go to bed earlier than 11 pm at night and no friends of mine
will ever call me later than that.)

    Correct. Correct. Correct.

For some reason, my Phone Line socket is in my main bedroom. When I
first moved here, when the phone rang, it would be a mad dash from the
lounge to the bedroom .... only to find it was some Robo-dialler trying
    to make contact.

Now, if the phone rings, I just let it ring .... until I hear some Human trying to leave a message .... then I might answer it!
