Their website specifies Windows version 7 at a minimum, except for their
    "For Windows XP/Vista" version.

    https://helpcenter.onlyoffice.com/desktop/installation/desktop-install-windows.aspx

So, they are primarily an on-site service to provide their editors, much
like the web apps from Google and Microsoft. You have to download their editors to exercise them on local (offline) files.

They have forums (https://community.onlyoffice.com/) where you could ask
    other users of their software.

Their https://www.onlyoffice.com/contacts page lists phone numbers in
several countries, and some e-mail addresses.

You can find online reviews, like at: https://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/onlyoffice-desktop-editors-9.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE6a1YGY_Qc

Typically the biggest sore point amongst all MS Office alternatives is
lack of or incompatible macro/scripting. They don't support VBA in MS
Office, but have their own scripting language. If you're in a corporate environment where macros are implement in their company docs, or you get
them from elsewhere with macros, like for validating data you enter into
input fields, those docs won't work in the MS Office alternatives.
Rarely do I run across docs with macros, but it has happened, like for
    tax forms, medical forms, etc.

Also, just because an alternative claims to be MS Office compatible does
not mandate that everything in MS Office can be found in the
alternative. For example, I used LibreOffice's Calc, I could not define
a table with a drag handle that let me resize (add rows) to the table
which would get reflected in an associated chart or graph. The
workaround was to copy the last row, and insert it just above the last
row, and then edit the last row. However, sometimes even that would not reflect a change in the data range defined in the chart or graph, so I
had to edit the data range in the chart or graph to reflect an increase
in row count in the spreadsheet. Some functions in LibreOffice are
equivalents to those in MS Office, but not always easy to find. Layouts
differ between MS Office, the alternatives, and even between the
    alternatives.

I tested it for over a year. I gave up and went back to
Libre Office, which has improved over the time.

Only Office was so, so bug riddled that it took my breath
away. I did not appreciate it corrupting my odt file in
    the slightest.

I've been using it for a couple months. Not bad, not great -- adequate. But
it looks like I might have to move back to MS Office for VBA work. Shrug.

Master PDF Editor is fee-ware, not free-ware.

Fix bugs ? They should for the cost of ~$80 - perpetual license, but
support and free updates for one year from purchase date, thereafter $40
per year for support and free updates.

    cf. Their web site

All licenses are valid indefinitely for the software product version
they were purchased for. In addition, our customers are provided with
free updates and technical support during one year from the date of the purchase. After that, updates and support are available at half-price
    for any other year.

I don't think I've used it since XP. Have they made a lot of improvement to it since then?

You can't edit with the free version. I sometimes will use
it as an alternative for Acrobat Reader, when AR fails at
something. Do not hurt to have two ways of doing things.

And it is worth every cent to me. They fix things usually
in two weeks. And yes, I pay them every year.

And they are damned helpful with other questions.

And get thus, if there is a work around to a bug, they
tell you. And then fix it anyway. Everyone else won't
their bugs if there is a work around. So you can still
get your work done in the two wait period.

I can not list for you every time in the 31 years
of doing this that I have been told by paid services'
    tech support that:

    1) they have no method of contacting the developers
    2) the developers get angry at them if they report things
    3) the developers ignore them

Code Weavers (Master PDF Editor) is an absolute class act.

Good lord, Betterbird just fixed a TWELVE YEAR OLD bug in
Thunderbird. I have starting supporting Betterbird.
They are a class act too.
