• How do I get rid of "Date Modified" showing in file explorer?

Do I have to go through each directory to change this setting?

All I wish to see listed for files in a directory is Size and Type.

Some Republican officials have denounced the assassination
of Charlie Kirk as a conspiracy by liberal Democrats. Why
then is the attempted kidnapping of the Democrat governor
of Michigan, the shooting of a Democrat state senator of
Minnesota, and the assassination of the Democrat speaker
of the Minnesota state assembly not denounced as a
    conservative Republican conspiracy?

I knew that part, but it only works for that particular directory I
happen to be in. All the other directories still show the Date Modified.

Going directory by directory to change the setting would be a monstrous
    p.i.a.

    In Windows 7

    1. Select the folder in the left pane.
    2. Use the menu: Tools >> Folder Options.
    3. Select the View tab.
    4. Look under "You can apply this view (such as Details or Icons) that
-a-a you are using for this folder all folders of this type", to find
-a-a the button "Apply to Folders".
    5. Click the button "Apply to Folders".
Note: "all folders of this type" means folders with the same
"Optimise this folder for" setting on the Folder Properties
    window, "Customise" tab.

No, but, wearisomely, you do have to repeat the following for each
    folder *TYPE*.

All I wish to see listed for files in a directory is Size and Type.

First, get the window size to what you want, then, depending on which
version of Windows you are running, there is an option under View called something like 'Choose details ...'. In that dialog box you can select
and deselect which columns to show and move them up or down to change
the order of the ones shown - note that if selecting a column
previously not shown, you need to give it a suitable width by selecting
its name and entering a suitable number of pixels in the box at the
bottom. When satisfied, click 'Ok'. Then, to make it all stick, choose 'Folder options', 'View' tab, and click 'Apply to all folders'.
