• Lady Mondegreen is back

I remember the discussion on 'mondegreen' here in AUE some time ago. The dictionary definition: "A mondegreen is a mishearing or
misinterpretation of a phrase in a way that gives it a new, and often
    humourous meaning. "

Well, it appears the word has raised its head again, in the form of a
German song lyric doing the social media rounds. (Heard it on BBC World
    Service so no links, sorry.)

Even more surprising for me - apparently a lot of other languages have a
word for it too. Funny old world.

And outside. The wiki article on it was fiercely defended by our Donna
    against some nasty Deletian. (IIRC)
It is a much bigger article by now.

You could have mentioned that it is 'Doobie scoot canoe',
    for 'Du Bist Gut Genug',

That's almost scat singing. Alas, Ward Swingle is no more.

Single Swingers. A pity, I quite liked them.

    (a) That reminds me: I always heard "Bei mir, bist du schoen" as "My
    dear Mister Shane".

    (b) I've just been digitizing and restoring a Swingle Singers album
("Getting Romantic"). I immediately recognised the lead soprano (the
late Christiane Legrand) as the (dubbed) voice of Mme. Emery in the film
and on the soundtrack album of "Les Parapluies de Cherbourg". A very
    plaintive and beautiful voice.

You can still hear them if you've a mind to.

But avoid "Swingle II", a combination which actually sang the words.

The Swingle Singers have plenty of bits on YewTewb, both with Ward and
after he stopped performing with them (but still consulted).

Only for actual songs, and I'm okay with that.
