• Ozzie admitted to Q his beef with Coach was "for the cameras"

I don't usually pay much attention to the vote-off interviews for
Survivor contestants, but some of what Q is saying in his interview with
    Rob C. is an eye-opener.

For one thing, Q said that when he asked Ozzie how he would be handling
his dispute with Coach over that "key" challenge, Ozzie admitted it was
"just for the cameras". He also said Angelina similarly drew attention
to herself at one point during the "snake" challenge as a strictly
    potential camera moment.

More interestingly, he and Rob seemed to be discussing the notion that
players like Q are voted out because other players realize how much
screen time they get. So rather than voting out a player who is the
most dangerous or the most likely to win, or whatever, they vote out
someone who is likely getting a lot of camera time.

I knew modern players are very conscious of cameras and manipulating
camera time, but it never clicked with me that that anyone would use
that as a criteria for voting someone out.

I would say New Era players tend to be very comfortable playing to the
cameras but they don't fake shit to get camera time. That's the pre-S40
gang who have finally figured out that there's money to be made by doing
more than just Survivor. Coach is really playing things up online this
season. He and Ozzy built up their feud like they were about to be the
main event on a UFC card. This past week Coach has been interacting with Russell promising him S50 won't go woke as long as he's around. Coach is
no doubt trying to get cast on a future season of The Traitors.

I wouldn't be surprised if the show was in on the Ozzy-Coach "feud" from
the start. The video the show posted last week on IG essentially shows
that they at least approved of the scam.

I feel bad for Q. The way too early swap screwed him over as did the
Journey. The Journey had no winning side for him. Horribly designed for
a season they apparently spent 18+ months planning out.

Did you catch Q's comment about Aubry being "on a walk"? That's
production code for doing a confessional. Q knew exactly what was going on.

While I think that is generally true, there are some exceptions. Some
of what Rizo did in 49, like pretending to play an idol and then
changing his mind was clearly performing for the cameras. I also think
a few new era players like Carolyn (Wiger), Andy and Rome did some
on-camera antics more for screen time than anything else.

I seriously hope we never have to see any of these over-exposed old era players who have already appeared numerous times ever again. I think if
they have to occasionally bring back a returning player, they should
have a rule that only players who have only played one time should be
allowed a "second chance" to play again, and then they should be very selective about it.

Yes, I did catch that. It's like Coconut Grove being the code term for
the land bathroom area they use when they don't want to go in the water.
Sometimes a player will say they are on a walk or going to Coconut
Grove when it's really just an excuse to go looking for an advantage or
    idol.
