Tonight's episode is titled "Did You Vote for a Swap?" It'll be
interesting to see if either Christian or Gen end up at the camp where
the third Billie Eilish idol has yet to be found. If one of them ends up
with two BE idols going into the end game they could be unstoppable.
IIRC, we still have three more celebrities left to impact the game. That
along with the usual powers could mean someone could literally "power"
    their way to F3.

    More later ...

Another New Era player voted out. Goodbye Q. I liked tonight's episode
minus the cringe of Jeff rapping.

    Some comments about the episode.

--For the second episode in a row they spend a ton of time giving us a multitude of reasons why certain people might be booted and about 15
seconds on the person who actually went home. Are we supposed to believe
that Q's boot was totally orchestrated by Mike White?

--The long segment(s?) near the beginning with Emily's tribe had me
thinking I had missed the IC and that she was going to get booted. I was thinking to myself "Em, WTF are you doing?!" She made one mistake after another despite acknowledging that she was screwing up. She was smart to
build a number of connections because I think that kept her off the hot
    seat.

--I like that they're not hiding pregame relationships. According to
Angelina, she and Mike White are best buds. Mike White let us know that
he and Ozzy know each other. I can see Ozzy appearing in a future Mike
    White project along with Emily.

--I'm tired of Christian's over acting with the same shocked expression
for everything. Devens isn't much better.

--Jeff once again demonstrated that he's not concerned about player
safety. Colby looked visibly hurt when he banged his head during the IC
and Jeff's reaction was to comment how hard Survivor is. Colby should
have been checked for a concussion.

--I loved how Gen threw Aubry UTB to every member on her tribe. I was surprised that Tiff is a Aubry stan. I hope those two don't take out Gen.

--The best part of the episode might have been Rizo asking Charlie when
was the last time he talked to Maria. I was kind of surprised at how
bitter Charlie still is and that voting for your number one is more
important to him than voting for who played the best game. When he asked
Rizo who his number one was in S49 and who he voted for to win, I was a
bit shocked when he told us that Rizo is basically his number one target
now. I thought Rizo gave a great answer when he said he voted for
Savannah over Sophi Balerdi because she played a better game. Is Charlie essentially saying that he thinks Kenz played a better game than he did
    in S46?

--Rizo's story about Cirie is true. He did meet her when he was 18.
Someone (him?) posted a photo a while ago of him meeting Cirie at a
    Survivor event.

--So far I've been dead wrong about how fast people would get booted
this season. Q was booted on Night 8 and was just the fourth player to
go with one of them being an injury removal. The season's essentially at
the one-third mark and there's still 20 players left. How many people
are going to get paid-off by MrBeast to quit the game?

When you have a near-unanimous vote against someone as was the case here (Steph is the only one who seemingly didn't get the memo), I don't think
Mike gets all the credit. He might have initiated the move, but Emily
and the others fell in line pretty quickly. In a way, Emily sort of set
the stage by deviating from the party line early and bonding so quickly
with Angelina. What's not clear to me is why Steph was seemingly the
only person left out of the vote. If they were doing some kind of vote
split in case Q had an idol or used the SITD, it didn't seem that way
from her reactions to the vote.

--The long segment(s?) near the beginning with Emily's tribe had me
thinking I had missed the IC and that she was going to get booted. I was thinking to myself "Em, WTF are you doing?!" She made one mistake after another despite acknowledging that she was screwing up. She was smart to build a number of connections because I think that kept her off the hot seat.

--I like that they're not hiding pregame relationships. According to Angelina, she and Mike White are best buds. Mike White let us know that
he and Ozzy know each other. I can see Ozzy appearing in a future Mike
    White project along with Emily.

The continuous gratuitous references by the show to White Lotus are
annoying. I found it especially irritating the way the show catered to Angelina's bragging about her cameo in White Lotus by so blatantly
showing her scene from that show. Do we really need to keep kowtowing
to White with all this fawning and free advertising?

--I'm tired of Christian's over acting with the same shocked expression
for everything. Devens isn't much better.

They are both being hot dogs and performing excessively for the camera.
Devens is at least staying somewhat in character with his past persona,
but the slapstick we are seeing from Christian is weird. He is
over-acting like crazy, though I have to admit I laughed at the meta
humor when he did that fake fall after TC last week to enable Rick to
hide the fake idol. After he got up, Christian deadpanned "I meant to
do that", which it turned out was actually literally true.

--Jeff once again demonstrated that he's not concerned about player
safety. Colby looked visibly hurt when he banged his head during the IC
and Jeff's reaction was to comment how hard Survivor is. Colby should
have been checked for a concussion.

I agree. I actually wondered if they might have stopped the challenge
to have him checked out and then just didn't show it. Colby hitting his
head was all on Chrissy who was looking right at him and should have
told him to duck. They've run that challenge many times and someone
almost always ends up getting hit or running into something. I know the
show loves this sort of physical humor, but they seriously might have to
start having the players wear helmets when they do this challenge.

--I loved how Gen threw Aubry UTB to every member on her tribe. I was surprised that Tiff is a Aubry stan. I hope those two don't take out Gen.

--The best part of the episode might have been Rizo asking Charlie when

Savannah over Sophi Balerdi because she played a better game. Is Charlie essentially saying that he thinks Kenz played a better game than he did
    in S46?

No, he's just saying that when you are in an alliance with someone, you
expect your alliance partner to vote for you if you make it to the
finals. Maria was Charlie's alliance partner and famously voted against
him in the final vote, which is what gave the win to Kenzie (Ben has
confirmed that he would have voted for Charlie had he been required to
vote in a tie). Obviously that's a sensitive topic to Charlie, and I
can understand his view, even while not necessarily agreeing with it. I
also think that a smart player like Rizo should have known better in the
way he responded to Charlie. He should have lied and either said
Savannah was his number one or that he voted for Soph.

--Rizo's story about Cirie is true. He did meet her when he was 18.
Someone (him?) posted a photo a while ago of him meeting Cirie at a
    Survivor event.

the one-third mark and there's still 20 players left. How many people
are going to get paid-off by MrBeast to quit the game?

Amazingly, there are still more players in the game than have ever
started a US season. At this point, they would almost have to cut two
people from each episode in order to fit the remaining number of episodes.

And if the plan is indeed to have Mr. Beast buy people off to leave the
game, how could the show's producers have counted on this happening?
There is no way they could have anticipated how many if any players
would allow themselves to be bought out in such a manner?

One would hope the show will come up with a more elegant solution to
getting down to the normal number for the finale.

Mike White might not deserve all the credit but the edit only showed him mentioning Q's name. The edit seemed to imply Mike White did all the
work. Hopefully we'll find out next episode.

I think Steph was left out of the vote. Maybe they're setting her up to
    be the next target.

--The long segment(s?) near the beginning with Emily's tribe had me

Jeff loves when celebrities are Survivor fans. Some free advertising to
keep them talking Survivor is a small price to pay as far as Jeff's
    concerned.

--I'm tired of Christian's over acting with the same shocked

Chrissy was a horrible caller. I'm not a fan at all of that challenge.
Someone is going to get seriously hurt.

I saw it differently. I thought Rizo handled it perfectly. If I was
Charlie I'd be happy to hear that I have a great chance of getting
someone's vote even if I'm up against their number one. I wonder how bad Charlie felt when he got home and discovered that Rizo, Sophi, and
Savannah are super tight with each other?

If they do a F3 they need to get rid of 17 people in 17 days. That would
be brutal on the players if they were to do a challenge every day. They
need to start doing some double TCs. MrBeast will offer enough money to
ensure they get the required number of players to leave.

I don't recall them saying preseason what advantages he and Jimmy Fallon
are bringing to the game. Maybe Zac Brown's part of a reward? He'll
    perform at The Sanctuary. lol

Rick and Christian created a fake idol with the idea they would plant at
TC and then during some future TC one of them would dramatically reach
over and "find" it, as though they had found a clue to its location.

The problem was how to plant it in a way no one would see them. So they arranged to be the last two to leave TC and Christian faked a dramatic
fall to divert attention while Rick hid the idol. That's why it was so
funny in a meta sense when Christian stood back up and people were
asking him if he was all right and he laughed and said "I meant to do that".

required to vote in a tie).-a Obviously that's a sensitive topic to
Charlie, and I can understand his view, even while not necessarily
agreeing with it.-a I also think that a smart player like Rizo should
have known better in the way he responded to Charlie.-a He should have
lied and either said Savannah was his number one or that he voted for
    Soph.

I doubt Charlie will care one way or another, especially since Sophi
isn't part of the current season and Savannah left early. The one thing
it will do is to convince Charlie not to align with Rizo since he knows
he can't necessarily depend on Rizo's support if Riz makes the jury and Charlie makes the finals.

--Rizo's story about Cirie is true. He did meet her when he was 18.
Someone (him?) posted a photo a while ago of him meeting Cirie at a
    Survivor event.

--So far I've been dead wrong about how fast people would get booted
this season. Q was booted on Night 8 and was just the fourth player
to go with one of them being an injury removal. The season's
essentially at the one-third mark and there's still 20 players left.
How many people are going to get paid-off by MrBeast to quit the game?

Amazingly, there are still more players in the game than have ever
started a US season.-a At this point, they would almost have to cut two
people from each episode in order to fit the remaining number of
    episodes.

And if the plan is indeed to have Mr. Beast buy people off to leave
the game, how could the show's producers have counted on this
happening? There is no way they could have anticipated how many if any
players would allow themselves to be bought out in such a manner?

One would hope the show will come up with a more elegant solution to
getting down to the normal number for the finale.

If they do a F3 they need to get rid of 17 people in 17 days. That would
be brutal on the players if they were to do a challenge every day. They
need to start doing some double TCs. MrBeast will offer enough money to ensure they get the required number of players to leave.

Yeah, I understand the MrBeast theory, but there's really no way to
assure they get the exact right number of people to leave the game,
short of offering everyone a million to leave, which would cheapen the
actual game quite a bit, and then capping it at the exact number of
players they need to leave. I know there is some precedent for this in
the MrBeast franchise - but it just seems wildly artificial in the
Survivor context. And if several players literally take a million each
to leave the show early, can they claim to be co-winners with whoever
actually wins the show proper? However they do it, it really seems it
will cheapen the actual competition proper and taint this season in a
way we have never seen before.

Sounds like Mike White thinks he's a mastermind and Zac Brown shows
up on the island with a guitar!

Are we getting a Zac Brown advantage next?

I don't recall them saying preseason what advantages he and Jimmy Fallon
are bringing to the game. Maybe Zac Brown's part of a reward? He'll
    perform at The Sanctuary. lol

I saw a promo for Ep 04 where Zac Brown comes out like we used to see
during the loved ones visits. There's a bunch of shocked looks but the
shot was too tight to confirm they were about to do a challenge. I
wonder how many of them had no idea who he was? I'm familiar with the
name but had no idea what he looks like until the S50 stuff. Anyway, I'm fearing another cringe segment this week.

I still really have no idea who he is.

This reminds me how on Hell's Kitchen they often bring out supposedly
famous or well-known chefs whom I have never heard of - and the
contestants often ooh and ahh like it's their long lost best friend, but
I've always wondered if they really don't know who some of these chefs
    are either.

Full disclosure: I've never really heard of MrBeast either and am only vaguely aware of Billie Eilish. At least I do know who Jimmy Fallon is.

They probably don't know who some of the chefs are. When the players on
BB25 first saw Cirie many of them had no idea who she was.

Full disclosure:-a I've never really heard of MrBeast either and am only vaguely aware of Billie Eilish.-a At least I do know who Jimmy Fallon is.

I know who MrBeast is thanks to tons of articles and videos on the top YouTubers. Also, there was a contestant (Matt Turner) on BB24 that used
to work for MrBeast. Did not part on good terms. The stories we were
allowed to hear on the live feeds were pretty crazy and made MrBeast
    sound very bad/unethical.

Billie Eilish is a huge star. I've heard her music enough and have had
people point out that it's her to now recognize her music. She and her
    brother are very talented.

I actually knew Jimmy Fallon is a Survivor fan before S50. I wonder if
he got a free trip to Fiji?

Yeah, if you played a random Billie Eilish or even Taylor Swift song for
me, I doubt if I would recognize it.

Given Fallon's income and net worth (which are both reported to be even
higher than Jeff Probst's), I think he can probably afford the cost of
airfare to Fiji. But I would also guess the show probably paid for this
along with whatever fees they had to pay NBC to allow him to appear on a
    rival network.
