That sucked! So many things about this episode sucked.

Two episodes in and just three players have been eliminated one due to
injury. Are we in for some mass culls later on or is there going to be a
crazy twist to end the season? Something like MrBeast pays off a bunch
of players to just quit the game.

    Some comments about tonight's episode.

--Having no connections really hurt Savannah. It also didn't help her
cause that Joe is strategically useless and that Emily seemed to forget
that Cirie and Ozzy are super tight.

--I don't recall Chrissy being this annoying in her initial season. Is
    this even the same person?

--Was Angelina super lazy in S37? I don't think she was? She looks like
she has no desire to play.

--Without Gabby, Christian is annoying. But not to Jeff who appears to
have elevated him to last name status.

--WTF is Rizo doing? He's not reading the room and is going to get
booted because of his lazy ass attitude.

--Don't tell me Aubry's going to luck out and make it to the end. Gen's intuition kicked in too early and now Aubry's probably safe.

--Is Charlie's contribution to S50 going to be fake shocked faces?

--Why do players keep allowing Cirie to skate by? They know she's a
threat but keep ignoring that fact.

--Just exactly what are Devans and Christian trying to accomplish with
    their act at the end?

--Coach needs some bananas. Does Fiji not have bananas?

--Now that two of the three winners are gone is Dee next? She's been
pretty invisible in the edit so far.

--Kind of interesting how Cirie did not have to exert herself in either
the RC or IC. Poor Colby nearly died. I thought Emily was pretty
    impressive in both challenges.

--It's probably safe to say that Christian will not win this season. It
would be weird for the winner to have a major segment about them
shitting their pants in front of other players.

    Next Episode

Time for a tribe swap already.

For me, this was a horrible episode. I felt there was a lot of
foreshadowing in the episode and I'm not liking where the season appears headed.

--Having no connections really hurt Savannah. It also didn't help her
cause that Joe is strategically useless and that Emily seemed to forget
that Cirie and Ozzy are super tight.

Agreed. It seems some players either don't care about players with
tight connections or don't notice them. It should be obvious that
Cirie has a great social game and then with a tight connection to Ozzy
she's a clear threat. I didn't see anyone seeing Savannah as a threat
at this point so it's not clear why target her over anyone else.

--I don't recall Chrissy being this annoying in her initial season. Is
    this even the same person?

--Was Angelina super lazy in S37? I don't think she was? She looks like
she has no desire to play.

She's the one player I can't recall at all. I know I watched that
season but she left zero lasting impression.

--Without Gabby, Christian is annoying. But not to Jeff who appears to
have elevated him to last name status.

    Jeff always has favorites.

--WTF is Rizo doing? He's not reading the room and is going to get
booted because of his lazy ass attitude.

I guess he's thinking it worked for him last time so why change or
maybe it's just because he has at least one other person doing the
same thing so he feels safe?

--Don't tell me Aubry's going to luck out and make it to the end. Gen's >intuition kicked in too early and now Aubry's probably safe.

LOL. I did love the timing on her getting that gift.

--Is Charlie's contribution to S50 going to be fake shocked faces?

--Why do players keep allowing Cirie to skate by? They know she's a
threat but keep ignoring that fact.

I guess that's the key to her game. She keeps focusing everyone on
potential physical threats so they end up ignoring her social game.

--Just exactly what are Devans and Christian trying to accomplish with
    their act at the end?

Nothing. At least that's my guess. It's all just an attempt to play
    for the cameras.

--Coach needs some bananas. Does Fiji not have bananas?

--Now that two of the three winners are gone is Dee next? She's been

--Having no connections really hurt Savannah. It also didn't help her
cause that Joe is strategically useless and that Emily seemed to forget

I mentioned previously that I was surprised there hasn't been much focus
at all on Savannah this season, and even in this episode there really
wasn't that much talk about her. I'm guessing that her status as a
prior winner and especially as a prior winner whose game was really a
mystery to everyone else made her a bigger target than they showed. And you're right about Joe - he really is kind of worthless.

--I don't recall Chrissy being this annoying in her initial season. Is
    this even the same person?

She seems totally different. If I were watching this season cold, I
    would not have recognized her.

--Was Angelina super lazy in S37? I don't think she was? She looks like
she has no desire to play.

She was kind of self-entitled, but I don't remember her being lazy per
se. I can't tell if she has no desire to play or it's just editing. The
one player who really conveys no desire to play is Aubry. I have no
idea what's going on wwith her.

--Without Gabby, Christian is annoying. But not to Jeff who appears to
have elevated him to last name status.

I missed this. In TC did he address him by his last name? Did he
reference him by last name in the challenges?

One thing I noticed about Jeff's play-by-play, whenever he mentions Mike
White for the first time, he always refers to him as "Mike White" rather
than just "Mike". It's like "Mike White" is the equivalent of a last
name reference. It will be interesting to see how he addresses White
    first time in a TC.

--WTF is Rizo doing? He's not reading the room and is going to get
booted because of his lazy ass attitude.

Rizo is gonna Rizo. He's not going to change.

--Don't tell me Aubry's going to luck out and make it to the end. Gen's intuition kicked in too early and now Aubry's probably safe.

I think if Aubry is the winner, I think she'd be presented differently.
I think she is getting a horrendous edit.

--Is Charlie's contribution to S50 going to be fake shocked faces?

Charlie's not getting much of an edit, but neither is anyone on that
tribe, frankly, other than Coach and maybe Mike White. Has Tiffany
gotten any real confessionals yet? Only thing I remember from Dee was
where she talked about the leaf "we wipe our asses with".

--Why do players keep allowing Cirie to skate by? They know she's a
threat but keep ignoring that fact.

She has a lot of friends and she won't ever be a threat to win
challenges post-merge. But I agree, they really should get rid of her
    while they can.

--Just exactly what are Devans and Christian trying to accomplish with
    their act at the end?

They just want and are getting screen time. Remember, Devens is a TV
person by trade so he knows how to play to cameras. I just think he is
way over the top this season, even more than I remember. He probably
figures this is the last time he will ever get to play, so might as well
    go out in style.

--Coach needs some bananas. Does Fiji not have bananas?

--Now that two of the three winners are gone is Dee next? She's been
pretty invisible in the edit so far.

Yes, I think so, especially when everyone finds out Sav is gone. I
can't see any world where Dee survives.

--Kind of interesting how Cirie did not have to exert herself in either
the RC or IC. Poor Colby nearly died. I thought Emily was pretty
    impressive in both challenges.

--It's probably safe to say that Christian will not win this season. It would be weird for the winner to have a major segment about them
shitting their pants in front of other players.

That's a great point I hadn't thought about. There have been occasional incidents like this in the past (never shown as explicitly as this), but
no one involved has ever won the game. The most famous prior case was probably Fishbach, but they never got too explicit as they did here.
Camera focusing in on Christian's blurred pants was really bizarre.
Sage would have loved it. Come to think of it, Sage would have probably enjoyed Dee's leaf comment.

They usually go at least three episodes, but somehow it seems they are counting Kyle's departure as an episode. Also, in a 26-day season,
each episode is usually around 2 days, but it seems the day count was

been at day 3 or 4, but I think they were past that.

The big thing about Angelina was she asked another player - Natalie, I

was just the typical entitled Millennial from that era.

Just double-checked, and Sav was voted out on Day 6. That would have

day era they should only be at around Day 4.

She was kind of self-entitled, but I don't remember her being lazy per
se.-a I can't tell if she has no desire to play or it's just editing. The one player who really conveys no desire to play is Aubry.-a I have no
idea what's going on wwith her.

Aubry is playing the same "woe is me" game she did the first three
times. Sadly, she has power and will probably last a long time. I'll be
very sad if she takes out Gen.

--Without Gabby, Christian is annoying. But not to Jeff who appears to
have elevated him to last name status.

I missed this.-a In TC did he address him by his last name?-a Did he reference him by last name in the challenges?

Definitely during at least one challenge. Possibly during TC as well.

One thing I noticed about Jeff's play-by-play, whenever he mentions Mike White for the first time, he always refers to him as "Mike White" rather than just "Mike". It's like "Mike White" is the equivalent of a last
name reference.-a It will be interesting to see how he addresses White
    first time in a TC.

Mike White is one of those people known by his full name. I'd say Jeff
calling him "Mike White" is the equivalent of a last name reference. On
a bit of a side note, Mike White was nearly invisible last night.

--WTF is Rizo doing? He's not reading the room and is going to get
booted because of his lazy ass attitude.

Rizo is gonna Rizo.-a He's not going to change.

You might be right. Maybe he'll step it up when he sees that Savannah
    was booted.

--Don't tell me Aubry's going to luck out and make it to the end.
Gen's intuition kicked in too early and now Aubry's probably safe.

I think if Aubry is the winner, I think she'd be presented differently.
I think she is getting a horrendous edit.

She had horrible edits the last two times she played but keeps getting
asked back. I don't think she'll win but fear she'll make the finale.

--Is Charlie's contribution to S50 going to be fake shocked faces?

Charlie's not getting much of an edit, but neither is anyone on that
tribe, frankly, other than Coach and maybe Mike White. Has Tiffany
gotten any real confessionals yet?-a Only thing I remember from Dee was where she talked about the leaf "we wipe our asses with".

Tiff has been pretty invisible. I don't recall Dee doing the
    confessional you mentioned.

--Why do players keep allowing Cirie to skate by? They know she's a
threat but keep ignoring that fact.

She has a lot of friends and she won't ever be a threat to win
challenges post-merge.-a But I agree, they really should get rid of her while they can.

--Just exactly what are Devans and Christian trying to accomplish with
    their act at the end?

They just want and are getting screen time.-a Remember, Devens is a TV person by trade so he knows how to play to cameras. I just think he is
way over the top this season, even more than I remember.-a He probably figures this is the last time he will ever get to play, so might as well
    go out in style.

"Over the top" is a perfect description of his gameplay thus far. Mike
Bloom posted a clip of his exit interview with Savannah where she says
the fight between Devans and Joe was more heated than we were shown. I
wonder how much of that was an act on Devans' part? Him getting up and
walking away was definitely an act.

--Coach needs some bananas. Does Fiji not have bananas?

--Now that two of the three winners are gone is Dee next? She's been
pretty invisible in the edit so far.

Yes, I think so, especially when everyone finds out Sav is gone.-a I
can't see any world where Dee survives.

She'll need to rely on luck, finding powers, and her tribe(s) winning
IC. If she makes it to the merge she might be good as people could be
willing to gamble that the jury won't vote for a previous winner.

--Kind of interesting how Cirie did not have to exert herself in
either the RC or IC. Poor Colby nearly died. I thought Emily was
    pretty impressive in both challenges.

--It's probably safe to say that Christian will not win this season.
It would be weird for the winner to have a major segment about them
shitting their pants in front of other players.

That's a great point I hadn't thought about.-a There have been occasional incidents like this in the past (never shown as explicitly as this), but
no one involved has ever won the game.-a The most famous prior case was probably Fishbach, but they never got too explicit as they did here.
Camera focusing in on Christian's blurred pants was really bizarre. Sage would have loved it.-a Come to think of it, Sage would have probably
    enjoyed Dee's leaf comment.

Editors must have loved Sage's pee, etc. talk from last season and
Decided to continue with it for S50. I found it a bit weird that there
was no focus on what made Christian poop his pants. Must have been just
a him thing because Emily sure thought it was funny.

    Next Episode

Time for a tribe swap already.

For me, this was a horrible episode. I felt there was a lot of
foreshadowing in the episode and I'm not liking where the season
    appears headed.

They usually go at least three episodes, but somehow it seems they are counting Kyle's departure as an episode.-a-a Also, in a 26-day season,
each episode is usually around 2 days, but it seems the day count was
way past where it should have been for episode 2.-a They should only have been at day 3 or 4, but I think they were past that.

TC last night was Day 6. Not only are they behind where they should be
for a 26-day season, there's still 21 players left. The preview for next
week also had no mention of multiple TCs/boots.

    Some comments about tonight's episode.

--Having no connections really hurt Savannah. It also didn't help her
cause that Joe is strategically useless and that Emily seemed to forget
that Cirie and Ozzy are super tight.

Devans, Christian, and Emily did a lot of pregaming together which left
Joe and Savannah as targets. Joe being seen as weak strategically
    probably sealed Savannah's fate.

She's famous for the "Can I have your jacket?" comment at a TC after
another player got booted and for negotiating with Jeff in a challenge.
She's very popular on SM but overrated as a game player as far as I'm concerned. IIRC, she finished third in S37.

He's all about strategy. He's also been lucky his tribe keeps winning.
With a swap coming up that could easily change.

--Don't tell me Aubry's going to luck out and make it to the end. Gen's
intuition kicked in too early and now Aubry's probably safe.

LOL. I did love the timing on her getting that gift.

The timing and who found it. Didn't she and Devens play together in S38?

--Is Charlie's contribution to S50 going to be fake shocked faces?

--Why do players keep allowing Cirie to skate by? They know she's a
threat but keep ignoring that fact.

I guess that's the key to her game. She keeps focusing everyone on
potential physical threats so they end up ignoring her social game.

--Just exactly what are Devens and Christian trying to accomplish with
    their act at the end?

Nothing. At least that's my guess. It's all just an attempt to play
    for the cameras.

    You're probably right.

This didn't help either. Savannah said she totally forgot she had a

I just don't think she has that much of a support base.-a And history
shows that when there is just one prior winner in the game, they are targeted and don't usually survive.

She might have a support base. If she has Emily she would also have
Devens and Christian. Players from seasons shot back-to-back tend to
connect which could mean she also has Charlie and Q.

    That's a great point I hadn't thought about.-a There have been
occasional incidents like this in the past (never shown as explicitly
as this), but no one involved has ever won the game.-a The most famous
prior case was probably Fishbach, but they never got too explicit as
they did here. Camera focusing in on Christian's blurred pants was
really bizarre. Sage would have loved it.-a Come to think of it, Sage
would have probably enjoyed Dee's leaf comment.

Editors must have loved Sage's pee, etc. talk from last season and
Decided to continue with it for S50. I found it a bit weird that there
was no focus on what made Christian poop his pants. Must have been
just a him thing because Emily sure thought it was funny.

I've read that diarrhea is very common on the show and has afflicted numerous players due to the weird food, change in diet, etc.-a Guatamala
was a particularly bad season.-a What was unique about this was that the attack happened in the middle of a conversation with cameras rolling.

There's no doubt it's common. I just found it weird that he appeared to
be the only one afflicted. Even without cameras rolling it might have
been a first. Players have told tons of stories about people throwing up
in front of others but never shitting themselves. FYI, Christian is
still married. Emily was with him last week at the Paley Center event.

    More later ...

That sucked! So many things about this episode sucked.

Two episodes in and just three players have been eliminated, one
    due to
injury. Are we in for some mass culls later on or is there going
    to be a
crazy twist to end the season? Something like MrBeast pays off a
    bunch
of players to just quit the game.

    Some comments about tonight's episode.

--Having no connections really hurt Savannah. It also didn't help
her cause that Joe is strategically useless and that Emily seemed
to forget that Cirie and Ozzy are super tight.

I mentioned previously that I was surprised there hasn't been much
focus at all on Savannah this season, and even in this episode there
really wasn't that much talk about her.-a I'm guessing that her
status as a prior winner and especially as a prior winner whose game
was really a mystery to everyone else made her a bigger target than
they showed.-a And you're right about Joe - he really is kind of
    worthless.

The edit for someone getting booted was very off last night. Savannah
was mentioned as a target for about 15 seconds and ended up being
    booted in an unanimous vote.

I agree.-a This seemed really atypical for the show.-a I almost wondered
if there was a scene I missed.

You didn't miss anything. There's a lot of very confused viewers. Maybe
next episode we'll get a flashback scene that will explain things.

--I don't recall Chrissy being this annoying in her initial season. >>>>> Is this even the same person?

She seems totally different.-a If I were watching this season cold, I >>>> would not have recognized her.

That seems to be the take by many online.

--Was Angelina super lazy in S37? I don't think she was? She looks
like she has no desire to play.

She was kind of self-entitled, but I don't remember her being lazy
per se.-a I can't tell if she has no desire to play or it's just
editing. The one player who really conveys no desire to play is
Aubry.-a I have no idea what's going on wwith her.

Aubry is playing the same "woe is me" game she did the first three
times. Sadly, she has power and will probably last a long time. I'll
be very sad if she takes out Gen.

I dunno - she really seems much less engaged than I ever remember her.
I agree Gen is the much more intriguing character, and I'm looking
forward to seeing what she can do.-a Aubry is just a super-depressed
version of someone we already know.

If Aubry didn't want to play she should have turned them down. Big
    mistake not casting Abi.

I can't agree about that. Abi was a one-note, somewhat cartoony villain
who I have no need to ever see again. I think the show has evolved well beyond such simplistic characters, especially since she has already been
    on multiple times.

--Without Gabby, Christian is annoying. But not to Jeff who appears >>>>> to have elevated him to last name status.

I missed this.-a In TC did he address him by his last name?-a Did he
reference him by last name in the challenges?

Definitely during at least one challenge. Possibly during TC as well.

One thing I noticed about Jeff's play-by-play, whenever he mentions
Mike White for the first time, he always refers to him as "Mike
White" rather than just "Mike". It's like "Mike White" is the
equivalent of a last name reference.-a It will be interesting to see
how he addresses White first time in a TC.

Mike White is one of those people known by his full name. I'd say
Jeff calling him "Mike White" is the equivalent of a last name
reference. On a bit of a side note, Mike White was nearly invisible
    last night.

I think if Aubry is the winner, I think she'd be presented
differently. I think she is getting a horrendous edit.

She had horrible edits the last two times she played but keeps
getting asked back. I don't think she'll win but fear she'll make the
    finale.

--Is Charlie's contribution to S50 going to be fake shocked faces?

Charlie's not getting much of an edit, but neither is anyone on that
tribe, frankly, other than Coach and maybe Mike White. Has Tiffany
gotten any real confessionals yet?-a Only thing I remember from Dee
was where she talked about the leaf "we wipe our asses with".

Tiff has been pretty invisible. I don't recall Dee doing the
    confessional you mentioned.

It was her first confessional in the first episode, just as her tribe
were getting off the boat the first time to go to their camp.

I'm sure I saw it, just don't remember. I'll have to do a quick rewatch.

--Why do players keep allowing Cirie to skate by? They know she's a >>>>> threat but keep ignoring that fact.

She has a lot of friends and she won't ever be a threat to win
challenges post-merge.-a But I agree, they really should get rid of
    her while they can.

--Just exactly what are Devans and Christian trying to accomplish
with their act at the end?

They just want and are getting screen time.-a Remember, Devens is a
TV person by trade so he knows how to play to cameras. I just think
he is way over the top this season, even more than I remember.-a He
probably figures this is the last time he will ever get to play, so
might as well go out in style.

"Over the top" is a perfect description of his gameplay thus far.

There have been anecdotal reports of other players soiling their
clothes, including Carolyn Wiger who supposedly sharted and then
pretended she fell in some mud, and a similar incident involving Tarzan
who claimed his pants were caked in dirt, but none were ever shown on
camera like this. Normally when a player has an attack, they are able
to rush into the woods or the water to take care of it; what this made
this so unique was that it happened on camera while Christian was
talking strategy. I can understand the camera operator continuing to
record the scene, including even zooming in, but I question the editors wasting valuable air time by leaving it in the final cut, since it
didn't add anything to the story-line or foreshadow anything else in the episode. I don't even think it was even referenced by anyone.

As for his marriage, of course they are still together. I think
Christian's suggestion that his wife might leave over this was just a
joke. Any marriage or relationship that would suffer because of an
incident like this which was clearly beyond the person's control
    probably had problems anyway.
