• Plan was for Savannah to say she finished fifth in S49

Clip of Sophi Balerdi on RHAP. Original plan was to tell the other
players that Rizo went out in fire, Savannah finished fifth but was
chosen because she's a firecracker, and that Sophi won. Sophi found out
real results were known and managed to tell Savannah at the last second.

The flaw in this ploy would be that two of the three tribes had a prior
winner and the tribe with Savannah (the player no one had seen) didn't.
That would create a lot of suspicion about why her tribe didn't have a
    prior winner.

Also, the plan assumes Rizo protects her, and at a certain point, it
just might be necessary for Rizo's game to narc out on her.

Rizo was in on the planning. They probably had a deal to protect each
other. Not knowing anyone else it would be in their best interests to
    work together.

I'm not buying the the three tribes/three winners theory. Jeff has said
more than once that they kept a spot open for a S49 player just in case
that season produced someone they wanted for S50. When all of the
producers said they wanted Rizo and Savannah that resulted in a number
of changes. If S49 had sucked would they have gone with three winners? Possibly. But having two players from S42 would have looked way more
suss than having just two winners as far as I'm concerned. If there had
been just two winners the other players probably would have assumed
someone backed out last second and that it was too late to find another winner.

I am convinced Maryann was originally going to be the third winner and
she was removed when they added Savannah. The timing of her being
dropped just lines up a little too much with Sav being added. I think
Sav replaced Maryann and Rizo filled a spot they left had open from S49
if needed. If Sav and Rizo were both busts, I think Maryann would have
made the season and some other new era player (maybe Jessie?) would have
    been added.

The consensus on the street is that Savannah did replace Maryanne. I
didn't see it, but Maryanne and Austin were on a podcast after the cast
was announced saying they were both last second cuts. Austin claims he
was replaced by Rizo. Last week Jeff said adding Rizo and Savannah made
them have to decide whether to go with a cast of 21 or 22. He said they
ended up deciding to go with 24. I don't think three tribes/three
winners was something that they had always planned on doing. We know
they asked Earl to play so it's possible they wanted more winners.
Having an equal number of winners on each tribe is another thing that
just happened to turn out that way. Game Changers had two tribes with
three past winners. I wonder if they considered doing something similar
for S50 but with a cast of 22? What I'd like to know is who was added to
bump the cast up to 24. My guesses would include Aubry, Chrissy, Emily,
and Kamilla. Maybe one day Jeff will give Dalton the complete details on
    the casting of S50.

i know Jeff said that, but I just don't think it lines up. Three tribes
of seven would mean an unequal number of men and women on each tribe,
and they have never done that before except in a rare case where someone dropped out last minute. I agree they probably went through a lot of iterations during casting and may have considered different
configurations at different times. But I'd be really surprised if they
waited to see who came out of S49 before finalizing the configuration
and the total number. The show is usually not that sloppy in its
preparation. There are numerous reasons, including challenge
construction, travel arrangements, expense planning and others where
they show needs to know more than a couple weeks in advance how many
people will be in the cast.

Yeah, that makes more sense. I had heard Andy said he was cut and don't remember that specifically about Austin. Austin was also a pretty bland
and unspectacular player who didn't really stand out in quite the same
    way as Andy.

Andy and Maryann (two new era players including one winner) being cut in

having defined the parameters of the season.
