The game is definitely different now compared to the old days. I
wouldn't say the shorter seasons are easier than the 39-day ones. The
game is way faster now. If you're not capable of making strategic
decisions on the fly, you're going to end up being an easy target or a
goat. I'd say the challenges are more balanced now and thus fairer. I
think this is a good thing. Another thing that makes the New Era game
harder is all of the randomness. Stuff like SITDs can save a player's
butt, but they can also end your game.
