It's easy to nitpick this, as many of the commenters do, but picking 10
iconic episodes out of several hundred is hard to do. And I understand
the reluctance to include episodes that were not shot in high def.

That said, three episodes with Coach is overkill and suggests either
that Coach is a big player this season or else flames out early. And
high def or not, I think not including an episode from the first season, probably the premiere, is a major omission. If nothing else, it would
given newer viewers a chance to figure out who Jenna is, since her only
other appearance was in All Stars, which isn't on the list. And judging
by the comments, it seems several other S50 cast members (e.g., Aubry,
Emily, Rizo) are absent in the chosen episodes. So how these episodes
    were chosen isn't real clear.

Coach getting three episodes is overkill. What's really weird about it
is that they're showing the S23 finale. That's an episode you'd show if
Sophie G. Clarke was part of the S50 cast. Did Coach backstab Ozzy in
    the finale of S23?

I can see why Rizo and Savannah didn't get an episode. They're season literally just finished airing so hopefully viewers remember who they are.

Emily's absence is strange. I see a S45 episode, but looking at the boot
order she was voted out right before Drew. I can't recall if Dee played
a major role in his boot. It would have been ideal to find an episode
    where they were both featured.

I will give them credit for their S48 episode selection. That episode is perfect for showcasing Kamilla, Kyle, and Joe.

If you go back and watch the S49 After Show, Jeff told them that they
would be doing this. I'm pretty sure the episodes were selected a while
ago to give CBS time to adjust their schedule and sell advertising. I
agree with you that it was a big mistake not to show something from S1.
The premiere of the entire series would have been very fitting for S50
which is supposed to be a celebration of the show.
