    According to Google, Soph was born Feb 8, 1998. That means this text
    from Jesse in August 2016 came when she was already 18 (actually 18-+).

    Sophie is currently still 27 so she just did sloppy math in her head and figured she was 17 ten years ago (which she was for about a month).

    That explains things. I just took for granted that she knew how old she
    was when she applied.

    Another thing that's interesting about this is that she's at least the
    fourth player to have played in a recent season who had been applying
    since the pre New Era days. I wonder how Rachel and Gen would have done
    back then?
