Sad to report Rob is still there. Hopefully they left him behind when
they all left the island.

I haven't watched yet. Are you saying someone tried to vote themselves
out of the game? Why didn't he just quit? And what happened to casting?
I thought the goal for S51 was to have an amazing cast?

What would be his motivation for willingly making himself look
like a complete dumbass? There is absolutely no upside to
voting for himself and then rCLpretendingrCY that he didnrCOt know
that it was against the rules.
The edit makes it clear that Rob was beginning to break down
emotionally, and was looking for a way to get out of the game.
We saw multiple confessionals of him talking about this. But
he didnrCOt want to tell Probst that he was quitting because he
didnrCOt want to look like a loser. So, he came up with a
convoluted plan which he thought would result in him leaving
the game, but with his pride intact. He honestly thought that
everybody was going to vote for Eric, and that one vote for
himself would be his ticket out. Using his idol to save Eric
would make quitting look like a selfless sacrifice for his buddy.
IOW, everything that happened in the voting area was real, no
acting involved.
Maybe. The big thing working against that is that the players are told
the rules before the show starts and it's pretty inconceivable that any player would think they could vote for themselves.
Guess we'll have to wait for his inevitable vote out interview to get a better picture of what happened.
