It makes perfect sense.-a Hasselbeck is a conservative who often
clashed with the liberal members of the View panel.-a Bari Weiss seems
to be leaning conservative in the way she has been firing people from
CBS and 60 Minutes.-a It makes perfect sense that Hasselbeck might be
more comfortable working for Weiss.
She's been on The View for a long time. Seems strange to me that all of
a sudden she's jumping ship. Yes, Weiss is leaning conservative but the article states that Elizabeth won't be doing political stories. To me it sounds like she'll be doing fluff pieces. At least they didn't hire her
to be a new correspondent on 60 Minutes.
She's not really jumping ship since she hasn't been a permanent member
of the View panel in more than a decade. The article says her most
recent appearance was earlier this year when she filled in for a
panelist on maternity leave. Apparently she makes occasional guest appearances when someone else is out, but my impression is she long ago
lost the desire to deal with the other panelists, especially Joy Behar,
on a full-time basis. The way I read it is that the CBS gig is also
temporary but could lead to something more permanent and less
confrontational than The View down the road.
