• Rizo says Brian Heidek will be at the S50 live finale

Apparently almost all of the Survivor winners were invited to the live
finale, and Rizo says that Brian Heidik will be in attendance

    https://x.com/_FromTheIsland/status/2056121378445701487

Look at the replies to the tweet to see the source. You'll also see a
tweet from Rob Cesternino who is part of this chat. His tweet is

    "Sounds official to me."

This matches up with what Todd Herzog said. Could this be a prelude to
Heidek returning to play in S52 in a mixed season? Maybe Todd as well
along with LIZGOD as a newbie. It could be an epic season.

Wow, that's really surprising, given Jeff's preference for upbeat
players who love the game. Brian Heidik is pretty much the opposite of
that. Even ignoring his reputation on the show for being cold,
transactional and pretty much devoid of empathy, even ignoring the fact
that CBS was apparently unaware of his history as an actor in adult soft
porn films when they cast him, many fans still remember him as the
person who fired a bow and arrow at a puppy, later claiming he thought
it was a coyote, and for fleeing from the sheriff when they came to
arrest him. He is also remembered for being arrested at least once on domestic violence charges against his wife who, during his season,
refused to help him on a gross food eating challenge. As I recall, Brian treated that family visit as a sort of business meeting, showing no
emotion at all toward his wife, even as players were crying and
embracing their loved ones. Jeff has hinted more than once that he
doesn't care for him, even pretending to forget his name when recounting
the winners of every season in an interview a couple seasons back.

Attending the reunion is one thing, but actually being invited back to
play the game again seems like a real stretch to me.

It's possible CBS wanted to invite everyone back and Jeff had no say. I
think I mentioned before that BB did something similar and people were convinced BB9 and BB15 would be skipped because of how much grief they
caused the producers and network. Turned out those seasons weren't
skipped and players from them showed up and were acknowledged. With 40+ winners and limited time, I can't see everyone getting screentime on
Wednesday night. Hopefully Sophi posts a lot of pics and videos from the events they go to.

If they do show Heidek in the audience I hope they put his name on
screen as I have no idea what he looks like now. If we see Fabio and
Natalie White that could be the highlight of the night. Or at least the
    shock of the night.

For that matter, it might also be interesting to see Jenna Morasca who
was only 21 when she won Survivor and is now 45. She got busted on a
drug charge several years ago but has otherwise maintained a low profile
since appearing on Amazing Race with her then-bf Ethan Zohn and being eliminated second episode. She was a double millionaire from winning
Survivor and then supposedly getting a second mill from Playboy for
posing nude. She supposedly now works as a veterinarian assistant and
has been out of the public eye for years.

but if a police artist were interviewing me to describe their
appearance, the best I could do would be to say Vee was a young (at the
time) black woman, Chris was a stereotypical southern redneck (which
actually says nothing about his appearance) and Gabler was a 50-ish
    older guy.

In terms of Jeff's favorites, I wonder if Mike Hollaway will show up? I
know Jeff hated S30 but I never understood what his problem with Mike
was. Mike had that amazing finish to win the game which is something
Jeff normally loves. I also don't recall Mike doing anything controversial.

I agree. Mike had an amazing season and finish, quite comparable to Ben Driebergen. But the season itself wasn't well-received, and I think
Mike apparently made some political comments in succeeding years about immigrants or whatever that have tarnished him in Jeff's eyes. He has
also been a critic of the New Era approach to the game, and we know Jeff doesn't take too kindly to that. I've always thought his exclusion from Winners at War while less deserving players like Amber and Danni were
included (and yes, I get that Amber might have been needed to get Boston
Rob - she was still essentially a goat winner) was a travesty.

Speaking of goats, I realized something interesting about Brian Heidik.
I'm pretty sure he was the first winner to follow the strategy of
dragging an unlikable goat (Clay) to the end to assure his win. Hatch
had a slightly different strategy of getting rid of Pagong and dragging
his key Tagi alies to the end - he actually tried to get rid of Kelly,
who ironically was probably the only probably the only person he could
have beaten. Colby ran season 2 and deliberately took his close ally
Tina to the end, with unfortunate results. Ethan, Tom and Lex stayed
together to the end, and the only reason the goat Kim made the finale
was that she won the key F3 immunity. As for Neleh and Vecepia, they
were more survivors of a weird season than anything else. In contrast,
Brian deliberately took goat Clay to the end, and, in a way, that's a noteworthy achievement.
