Just saw this over on twitter. Turns out that Ozzy played hurt most of
the season. Something that might have got him pulled from the game if production knew about it.

"I blew out my meniscus. I donAt know when it happened. It was early
in the game. I think it might have been on the Fight for Supplies
challenge when I jumped off the top of the pole. Either that or when I
got knocked the key off, and I just jumped off the top of there. And I
was so tired, I donAt know, I think I came down wrong, because my knee
felt all wacky for the rest of the game.

And I didnAt want to say anything, since I didnAt want to get
medevaced. So I just kept it to myself. And, if it had gotten to the
point where I couldnAt walk or whatever, I would have obviously taken
myself out of the game. But I wasnAt going to go out of the game
because of my knee getting wacky. I was in it to win it. Jeff would
have had to call it. And so I just kept my mouth shut. And yeah, it
was difficult to play the rest of the game. Some of the balancing
things were difficult. I mean, IAm not going to make excuses. Jonathan
won that last challenge fair and square. But yeah, coming home, I had
to get a full meniscus repair surgery. IAve been out of out of
commission for three months, and my leg is just now feeling like itAs
    getting back."

Hard to say if a meniscus tear would take him out of the game if Jeff
and the doctors knew about it. I have a meniscus tear in both knees and
have managed to avoid surgery on them for more than 20 years. From what
I recall, only about 20-25% of cases require repair.

I can only say that in watching Ozzie during challenges, I don't recall
him ever favoring the knee or showing obvious distress over it.

From rewatching those scenes, I'd say he got hurt when Coach screwed
him over. I don't understand his logic. If he knew he was injured why
would he keep playing when doing well in challenges is his best
strength? He should have let medical pull him and hope for another shot
to play. With the way things ended for him I doubt he'll be asked back.
Going out super early might have gotten him the Bruce treatment.

I think there is a sense among many of the players that this was the
last chance for the old-timer players like Ozzy, Coach and Cirie who
have played multiple times and who first played back in the teens. I
think Ozzie felt that if he got pulled after so many prior seasons, he
would likely never get another chance. You also have to remember that
Ozzie was feeling cocky about his game play this season and didn't think
he needed to keep winning challenges to stay alive.

As for this being the last shot for the old time players, go back and
watch Cirie's exit from Game Changers. Jeff made a big deal about it
being the end of her Survivor career. I thought it was the end to until
we saw her doing the Australia season and then S50. If the show is still around for S75 I won't be surprised if she plays again.

No idea. I watched the season but have no clue as to how casting was
done or who tried to get cast. In hind sight, Ozzy would have been a
much better choice than Tony who ended up being a huge disappointment.

have played multiple times and who first played back in the teens.-a I >>>> think Ozzie felt that if he got pulled after so many prior seasons, he >>>> would likely never get another chance.-a You also have to remember that >>>> Ozzie was feeling cocky about his game play this season and didn't
    think
he needed to keep winning challenges to stay alive.

Ozzy's cockiness might have been a result of getting injured.

As for this being the last shot for the old time players, go back and
watch Cirie's exit from Game Changers. Jeff made a big deal about it
being the end of her Survivor career. I thought it was the end to until
we saw her doing the Australia season and then S50. If the show is still >>> around for S75 I won't be surprised if she plays again.

Wasn't there talk about Ozzy trying to get on Survivor Australia?
Can't remember if it was here or over on Twitter but I remember people
talking about that being where he wanted to go next.

No idea. I watched the season but have no clue as to how casting was
done or who tried to get cast. In hind sight, Ozzy would have been a
much better choice than Tony who ended up being a huge disappointment.

The Australian Survivor v. World which Tony appeared on was actually a
very short season, only 16 days. Ozzy is interested in a regular
Australian Survivor season which is 47 days or more. A few US Survivors
have appeared on the show, specifically Russell and later Sandra who
appeared on a B v W season with her daughter Nina, who herself later
returned on her own. No one has explained how they cast US Survivors to appear on the show.

Yes, the prize was $250K in Australian dollars, which is around $181K
US. The normal sized season pays $500K Australian which is $362K in US.
Keep in mind that this is still more than the second place finisher on
    US Survivor.

Thing is, only the first place finisher on Australian Survivor really
gets much. That's true of both the super-short Australian Survivor v.
World season as well as the usual super-long seasons. The other players
from second place down only receive a per diem which is estimated at
around $90 per day Australian. So even if you last 45 days on a regular season and finish second, you still only make around $4K Australian.

would likely never get another chance.-a You also have to
    remember that
Ozzie was feeling cocky about his game play this season and >>>>>>>>> didn't think
he needed to keep winning challenges to stay alive.

Ozzy's cockiness might have been a result of getting injured.

As for this being the last shot for the old time players, go
    back and
watch Cirie's exit from Game Changers. Jeff made a big deal
    about it
being the end of her Survivor career. I thought it was the end >>>>>>>> to until
we saw her doing the Australia season and then S50. If the show >>>>>>>> is still
around for S75 I won't be surprised if she plays again.

Wasn't there talk about Ozzy trying to get on Survivor Australia? >>>>>>> Can't remember if it was here or over on Twitter but I remember >>>>>>> people
talking about that being where he wanted to go next.

No idea. I watched the season but have no clue as to how casting
was done or who tried to get cast. In hind sight, Ozzy would have >>>>>> been a much better choice than Tony who ended up being a huge
    disappointment.

The Australian Survivor v. World which Tony appeared on was
actually a very short season, only 16 days.-a Ozzy is interested in >>>>> a regular Australian Survivor season which is 47 days or more.-a A
few US Survivors have appeared on the show, specifically Russell
and later Sandra who appeared on a B v W season with her daughter
Nina, who herself later returned on her own.-a No one has explained >>>>> how they cast US Survivors to appear on the show.

I think Ozzy is interested in winning. Did the short season Parv won
have a smaller grand prize than a regular season?

Yes, the prize was $250K in Australian dollars, which is around $181K
US.-a The normal sized season pays $500K Australian which is $362K in
US. -a-aKeep in mind that this is still more than the second place
    finisher on US Survivor.

For 16(?) days that is great money. It's why The Traitor's is such a
    coveted show for reality players.

Thing is, only the first place finisher on Australian Survivor really
gets much.-a That's true of both the super-short Australian Survivor v. World season as well as the usual super-long seasons.-a The other players from second place down only receive a per diem which is estimated at
around $90 per day Australian.-a So even if you last 45 days on a regular season and finish second, you still only make around $4K Australian.

That's crazy. Why would anyone give up their job, etc. for a somewhat
    slim chance of winning $500K?
