Tonight's episode is titled "The Blood Moon." Apparently a Survivor
first is going to happen tonight. No mention or even hint that MrBeast
    shows up tonight.

    More later.

The episode didn't live up to the hype for me. The three tribes of five
along with the total randomness in how they were formed pretty well
destroyed the strategic side of the game. I thought Gen was playing a
great game but was totally screwed over by the twist.

Not to mention....what exactly was the point of sending two players to
Exile Island? They didn't exactly seem to get any advantages or the
ability to turn back time or anything weird, but I suppose maybe we'll
    see something next episode

I guess all this is the new Mergatory?

And with Genevieve gone, two of the Eilish idols have lost their
boomerang ability. So that little twist seems to have, shall we say, bomeranged?

They wanted even tribe sizes. I wouldn't be surprised if EI was not part
of the original twist. Kyle's injury forced them to come up with
something. The advantage scramble through the jungle solved the uneven
tribe size issue. The advantage for Ozzy and Rizzo is that they got to
skip going to TC and will now make at least jury.

I guess all this is the new Mergatory?

    I'd say so.

And with Genevieve gone, two of the Eilish idols have lost their

IIRC, there's been at least one "regular" season with a jury of 11 people.

With 14 people left I wonder if we're actually down with the team stuff.
Two tribes of seven and two TCs next week would make a lot of sense
given they have seven episodes left to get rid of 11 players.

Yeah, Edge of Extinction had 13 jurors and Ghost Island technically had
10 jurors but because of the tie vote, Laurel joined the jury for the
    final vote giving them 11.

tribe size issue. The advantage for Ozzy and Rizzo is that they got to

Still doesn't make much sense. The challenge was obviously built for 15 players, so not sure how Kyle's injury would really play into it. The
way the days were advancing in the early episodes, it seems they treated Kyle's departure as though it were a vote-off in the game and that
opening three hour episode was essentially two episodes. They could
easily have waited until there were 15 players left in the game to run
the challenge, so I suspect it was planned to send two people to Exile.
Since we didn't really see those two come back yet, I wonder if there
won't still be an Exile task or advantage before they return. In prior seasons, there was often an idol or a clue on Exile Island, and with two players being sent, there could even be a competition of some kind.

One thing I hope doesn't happen is Ozzie and Riz having to do some kind
of challenge where the loser is eliminated from the game. We generally
don't see this on US Exile Island episodes, though it's possible they've
done it on international versions, but with such a surplus of players
this year and the possibility there could be some random eliminations,
there is a remote chance it could happen.

I guess all this is the new Mergatory?

    I'd say so.

I guess I'm still not totally clear on why Devens agreed to take responsibility for claiming he sent Aubry the idol. I can maybe see an advantage for Christian to maybe take the spotlight off of himself, but
why was Devens so quick to agree?

Yeah, I would have loved to just have a couple of extra episodes to
get rid of the extra players.

Unfortunately in a season like this with so many remaining players and
so few remaining days, there's gonna have to be some randomness.

One thing I have always favored, and they don't seem to really do this
much, is letting the players choose their own tribes on a swap or a competition like this. Instead of drawing rocks or something totally
random, have a quick mini competition like something timed or something
with a quick puzzle, and have the winner get first choice on a player
for tribe 1 and have the second and third place winners get to choose
for the second and third tribes and just rotate through. That would at
least put it into the players' hands and take away the complete randomness.

That challenge is easily modifiable. It was likely built for 18 players
and then modified. Getting rid of three players in one night wouldn't
have been any different. I just find it weird that they would
intentionally use EI twice when they said they wanted to revisit twists.

I expect Ozzy and Rizo to come back the next morning to discover they've
made the merge. Rizo will be thankful that Ozzy chose him as he would
have been an easy target if he had not won immunity which is pretty well
a given considering his track record.

One thing I hope doesn't happen is Ozzie and Riz having to do some kind

No idea. I still don't understand their planting of a fake idol at TC.
The way the edit keeps referring back to it makes it pretty clear
    something is going to happen.

Christian is getting a crazy amount of screentime. Enough to make me
think he goes deep into the game. Maybe he has a diabolical plan to use
Devens to screw over Aubry. Does Aubry trust Devens enough to not use
her BE idol so they can blindside her?
